Added — arrangement automation
- Automation lanes on the arrangement timeline. Parameter automation (which already played
back but was invisible) is now a full editable surface:- Visible + editable — draws as a curve with breakpoints over each track's row; drag a
point (value + grid-snapped time), double-click to delete, Alt-click a lane to add one. - Break-out sub-lanes — the ▾ in a track header drops the automation into its own
lane below the clips; + Lane with a parameter picker stacks several lanes (any of
the track's synth/macro/mix params), each with a × to remove. - Curve & step — right-click a lane for Smooth/Stepped and a Curve (linear / ease
in / ease out); the curve is drawn and played back. - Bus / group / master rows — content-less rows below the tracks give bus, group, and
master automation a home (master always shown; a bus appears once it has automation). - Write mode — a Write toggle in the RACK panel: while playing, your macro moves (and
snapshot morphs) are captured as automation, latch-style (a target you touch stops reading
its own automation so it doesn't fight you). The "automate the whole rack" workflow. - VCA automation — a control group's fader (
group/<name>/gain) is automatable as a true
VCA offset that scales its members without touching their own automation.

- Insert a macro snapshot into the timeline. A snapshot slot's right-click menu gains Insert
at playhead, which stamps that snapshot's values as an automation breakpoint into every macro's
lane at once. Drop one snapshot early and another later and playback morphs the whole rack
between them — the snapshot becomes ordinary, editable automation.
Added — macro rack (desktop editing)
- Map and name macros from the desktop — no scripting needed. Each macro knob in the
RACK panel now has a ⋯ menu: Rename… it ("Brightness", "Drive"), Map to synth ▸
a built-in synth parameter or Map to effect ▸ a parameter of one of the track's insert
effects (mapped over that parameter's range), Clear mappings, or Remove macro. Map a
macro onto several parameters and one knob morphs them together. The same operations are also
available over gRPC and from the Python (rename_macro,clear_macro_mappings,
remove_macro) and Common Lisp clients — where you can additionally set a narrower[lo, hi]
safe range per mapping. - A Randomize button in the RACK panel. Rolls every macro on the track to a fresh random
value at once — musical because each mapping stays inside its authored safe range. (The same
randomize-macroswas already scriptable; this is the desktop control.) - MIDI-learn a macro. The ⋯ menu gains MIDI Learn — arm it, move a hardware knob or
fader, and that CC now drives the macro (and through it, every param the macro maps). Macros
are now addressable controller/automation targets (track/<id>/macro/<index>), so they also
show up for the OSC/gRPC controller API and persist like any other mapping. - Automate a macro along the arrangement. The ⋯ menu gains Automate at playhead (and
Clear automation) — drop keyframes for a macro as you move the playhead, and playback
morphs the macro smoothly between them (the arrangement's automation ramps linearly, with the
usual step/ease options). The RACK knobs animate live as automation plays. Macros were already
automation targets over the API; this is the desktop control. - Macro snapshots (rack variations). A strip under the RACK header saves whole knob states:
+ Snapshot captures the current macro positions as a recallable slot; click a slot to snap
the whole rack back to that state (the knobs animate, and the slot stays lit until you move a
knob). Right-click a slot to Overwrite it with the current knobs, Rename, or Delete
it. Snapshots are saved with the project. - Morph between snapshots. Right-click a snapshot slot → Morph to this over ½–8 beats
(tempo-relative) and the whole rack glides smoothly from its current state to the snapshot —
every macro lerps at once — instead of jumping. Recall instantly is still there for a hard
switch.
Install — Fedora/RHEL: add the dnf repo then sudo dnf install gloopy. Debian/Ubuntu: download gloopy_0.2.0-1_amd64.deb below then sudo apt install ./gloopy_0.2.0-1_amd64.deb. Windows: gloopy-setup-x64.exe or gloopy-windows-x64.zip below.
