VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.3 — Main Release + Experimental Wallet
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.3 — Main Release with Wallet (Experimental)
This is the main/default GitHub release of VMRX Node & Miner,
containing the Windows desktop EXE or Linux GUI plus VMRX Core v0.1.3
and the fork-native vmrx-wallet-rpc engine in a portable archive.
Wallet functionality remains experimental (beta quality).
Being designated the main release does not mean the wallet is audited
or safe for meaningful balances.
Included
- Node and CPU miner controls, original VMRX-branded GUI
- Local wallet creation, encrypted wallet files, opening and backups
- Wallet restore from fresh mnemonic; address identity confirmed in
independent Windows and Linux native RPC tests - Balance and transfer history UI, payout address, opt-in two-stage
send UI (experimental; NOT tested with funded mainnet transactions) - Native Core + wallet binaries packaged together on both platforms
IMPORTANT — Known limitations
- Actual funded mainnet receive/send and finality have not been verified.
- Recovery of pre-existing/founder wallets is unverified; a historic
seed-to-address mismatch was previously reported. - No independent wallet security audit, signed installer or
hardware-wallet support. Do NOT rely on this wallet for large funds. - Keep your seed OFFLINE and test recovery with a disposable wallet.
- Read
WALLET_GUIDE.mdinside the download before using the wallet.
Verification
- Native wallet creation and mnemonic recovery verified on Windows/Linux.
- Full integrated GUI/package build successful on both systems.
- Windows/Linux beta release package contents verified independently.
- Main release archives are byte-identical to the tested beta
files, apart from the downloaded archive filenames. - SHA256SUMS included for both archives.

VMRX Node & Miner + Wallet Beta 1 (Windows/Linux)
VMRX Node & Miner + Wallet Beta 1 (Windows/Linux)
Complete portable GUI with new Wallet (Beta) tab and matching
fork-native VMRX Core v0.1.3 daemon + local wallet RPC engine.
Features: password-encrypted wallet creation, offline mnemonic backup,
restore from seed with identity check, address and balance, history,
file backup, mining payout address and two-step experimental send.
Windows and Linux desktop UI smoke-tested in isolated Actions runners.
Native encrypted create/open/recovery verified independently on both OS.
Important risks: This is a public BETA, not a security-audited stable wallet.
Historic founder seed restoration and transfers with real balances have
NOT been established. A seed mismatch with an older founder wallet has
previously been reported. Keep significant balances away from this
experimental wallet; write recovery words offline, never submit them
to websites, and first restore them in a separate test wallet.
Wallet RPC localhost port 29882; daemon RPC 29781; mainnet P2P 29780.

VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.2 — Windows (Core included) + Linux
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.2 — Mainnet synchronization and branding corrections
Release acceptance: Publication is gated by the linked VMRX Core and integrated GUI Windows mainnet tests, Linux GUI unit/build tests, source commit provenance and checksum verification.
Changes since v0.1.1
- Fix missing historical mainnet block-1 founder allocation validator in the native VMRX Core; keep a narrow exception anchored to exact block hash, coinbase hash, both amounts and mainnet HF16, not a general consensus bypass.
- Bundle branded
core/vmrxd.exewith an embedded official VMRX Windows icon, the original multi-resolutioncore/vmrx.ico, and the required MinGW runtime DLLs. No renamed upstream Monero release binaries. - Show VMRX Core product/version information and correctly mark zero-peer nodes ISOLATED, never synced merely because the local tip equals the unknown network tip.
- Prefer
31.70.81.5:29780(operator-observed VMRX P2P) and217.154.93.20:29780(operator-provided secondary, VMRX handshake not independently verified). Peers are priority, not exclusive, allowing real VMRX-only discovery; no upstream Monero seeds. - Convert the five original 1254×1254 supplied brand PNGs to true transparent alpha while keeping the official artwork and same file paths. This covers GUI header, Windows ICO generation, READMEs and project preview imagery.
- Prevent CPU mining on an isolated daemon with zero P2P peers; check live synchronization before starting.
- Keep native Windows GUI+Core binary packaging gates, six historic mainnet blockhash checks and SHA256SUMS; Linux GUI still requires separate Linux Core.
Verified so far
Fresh Linux and native Windows Core CI tests independently synchronized through historical height 1193 (more than 1,200 blockchain heights in the GitHub test), while the Windrose Linux operator candidate matched its production tip at height 1194 on 25 October 2026. The integrated GUI package's own native Windows test must separately verify the same six historical hashes, including the canonical block 1 with:

200035184304979968atomic units (200,000 VMRX premine + normal subsidy).
Not yet proved: indefinite future synchronization and resilience across arbitrary peers, GUI-driven real-world mining payouts, wallet seed restoration/spend or independently verified receiving transactions, secure handling of private keys, executable code signing, independent security audits or sustained peer availability.
Security
VMRX is a separate Monero-derived RandomX chain; do not use upstream Monero or VMESH chain files. RPC stays on localhost by default. The historical 200,000 VMRX founder allocation and 0.6 VMRX tail subsidy (no fixed cap) must remain disclosed. The GUI is not a wallet and never handles seeds or keys.
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.1 — Windows GUI + VMRX Core, Linux GUI
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.1 — Windows integrated Core + GUI
This release fixes the missing Windows node in the v0.1.0 GUI-only ZIP.
Windows x64 (build-gated)
- Ships
VMRX-Node-Miner.exealongsidecore/monerod.exeand the needed native MinGW runtime DLLs. - Compiles the daemon from the actual VMRX Core fork at pinned revision
746fbe7878a037d36d0d20404b8971798448fa9b— no Monero binary substitution. - Native Windows smoke test is mandatory: launch the daemon offline on localhost, query
get_info, and verify genesis405baab8805904ffb7d3643a5004c43b45fc3f5f4c97e712ba4c078a384139d4over JSON RPC. - Stops the release pipeline if compilation, node startup, genesis verification or inclusion of
core/monerod.exefails. - Preselects the bundled daemon automatically in Node Control; starting it remains an explicit user action.
- Adds a Windows quick-start guide, Core source provenance, license and SHA256 checksums.
Linux x86_64
The Linux archive is still GUI-only. Linux VMRX Core must be installed from the separate Core repository.
Known limits
This GUI is not a wallet: no seed handling, account management, funds sending or transfer signing. Seed restoration and spend/recipient confirmation in the underlying Core have not been independently verified. VMRX consensus and security have not had an independent audit. The chain includes a 200,000 VMRX founder premine in block 1 and 0.6 VMRX tail emission (no fixed supply cap). The prefilled single VMRX peer is operator-run and may be unavailable. The bundled node binds P2P and RPC to localhost by default; it is not a publicly exposed full seed node.
Build-gated release means these checks must pass to publish. It does not guarantee all mainnet networking, mining payout or wallet safety. Please independently verify the downloaded ZIP with the published SHA256SUMS file.
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.0 — Windows & Linux
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.0 — Windows & Linux
Initial public main-channel desktop release for local VMRX node monitoring and RandomX CPU mining control.
Included
- Windows x64 desktop GUI archive and Linux x86_64 desktop GUI archive.
- Owner-approved logo, app window icon, README branding and related image assets.
- Local blockchain overview: height, difficulty, peers, synchronization and latest block hash.
- CPU mining: enter receiving address, select threads, start/stop and view hashrate.
- Node Control: attach to local RPC and select/start an independently installed VMRX daemon.
- Friendly offline/onboarding message when no local daemon is running.
- SHA256SUMS for both published GUI archives.
Critical platform limitations
This is a GUI controller, not a standalone Windows or Linux cryptocurrency node. The daemon binary is not bundled. No native Windows VMRX Core has yet been released. Thus Windows users cannot use mining or sync without building/providing a compatible Windows Core themselves. Linux users need to download the Linux Core separately.
No wallet accounts, seed restoration, send/receive, payments, installers, code signing, independent audit or reproducible build verification are supplied. GUI tests/builds do not validate those missing features.
RPC is restricted to 127.0.0.1 (default port 29781). Operator-observed VMRX P2P bootstrap peer 31.70.81.5:29780 may be unavailable. Do not connect to Monero peers.
VMRX Node & Miner v0.1.0-rc.1 (preview)
VMRX Node & Miner Desktop v0.1.0-rc.1 — DRAFT
Preview release. Not a wallet. Not yet independently built or tested on target platforms.
Included
- Local VMRX daemon status, network height, difficulty, peer count and chain-tip hash.
- RandomX hashrate/status and explicit Start/Stop mining with address and thread controls.
- Start/Stop of a GUI-owned daemon process; existing systemd/other nodes are never terminated by the Node Stop action.
- Loopback-only RPC, intentionally isolated peer bootstrap unless a VMRX-only peer is supplied.
- Cross-platform Python/Tkinter source, seven unit tests, Windows/Linux PyInstaller scripts and preview CI workflow.
Not included
- VMRX Core or wallet binaries, wallet key management, wallet sending, installer signing, official brand assets.
- Independent security verification or production support.
Supported development environment
- Python 3.12, standard Tk/Tcl GUI libraries, Windows x64 or Ubuntu 24.04 x64.
- Compatible VMRX daemon local RPC on port 29781 (operator RC2).
Release gating
The main branch workflow only uploads preview artifacts. It does not publish a GitHub Release. Verify binaries, perform fresh Windows/Linux GUI integration tests with the real VMRX Core, replace logo placeholders, and approve before adding any public tag.
