Local HTML View renders .html and .htm files from your vault as real pages instead of sanitized previews, so scripts run, stylesheets apply, <canvas> draws and click handlers respond.

Existing HTML readers strip <script> before display. That is safe for a saved article but leaves any generated page dead: dashboards, D3 or Chart.js figures, Mermaid exports and reveal.js decks open blank.

Features

  • Opens HTML files in a normal Obsidian tab with a toolbar for reload, zoom and "open in default browser"
  • obsidian://, http://, https:// and mailto: links inside the page are handed to the OS, so deep links jump back to the right note
  • Webview renderer by default, with an iframe fallback you can force per vault
  • Takes over .html and .htm from other HTML plugins, and restores the previous owner on unload
  • No polling and no persistent timers

Desktop only, because the webview renderer is an Electron element.

Install manually: copy main.js, manifest.json and styles.css into <vault>/.obsidian/plugins/local-html-view/.
