What FWG Can Make

FWG is not limited to “make a wavetable, export a wavetable.” The same generators and Morph system can produce oscillator sources, ordinary samples, layers, evolving material, and raw sound for further processing.

Oscillator and wavetable sources

A short, coherent export can become oscillator material in:

  • wavetable synths;
  • samplers and keygroups;
  • resynthesis tools;
  • granular instruments;
  • modular or software environments that accept single-cycle waves;
  • custom instruments built from several related sources.

START→END movement

Morph can produce:

  • smooth timbral sweeps;
  • phasey or beating crossfades;
  • one-oscillator table movement;
  • spectral interpolation;
  • phase- or frequency-modulated carriers;
  • digital fracture;
  • stationary endpoint interactions;
  • periodic pulses, phrases, and riff-like sequences created by patch/Morph timing.

Samples and sound-design material

Longer or less wavetable-oriented exports can become:

  • pads and drones;
  • bass layers;
  • metallic clangs and growls;
  • hits and impacts;
  • risers, fallers, and transitions;
  • riffs and repeating phrases;
  • texture beds and industrial/noise material;
  • sources for chopping, reversing, stretching, filtering, distortion, convolution, or granular processing.

Vector and crossfade instruments

Several FWG exports can become corners or layers in a vector-style instrument. A controller, envelope, low-frequency oscillator (LFO), velocity mapping, or XY pad can move among bright, hollow, noisy, smooth, or metallic sources.

Subtractive synthesis

FWG can replace the familiar saw/square/triangle starting point with a more complex oscillator source before the destination synth's filters and modulation begin shaping it.

Sampler-based synthesis

  • Very short exports can become oscillator-like sources or hits.
  • Medium exports can become keygroup layers or evolving tones.
  • Long exports can become atmospheres, installation sounds, drones, or raw resampling beds.

FWG puts generation, routing, modulation, filtering, visualisation, morphing, pitch arithmetic, export, packaging, and reproducibility in one application. That makes it useful for studying relationships that are often taught as separate subjects.
