AAP 0.11.2, AAP-LV2 0.6.2, AAP-JUCE 0.8.2 released

Today I have tagged aap-core v0.11.2 and published the library AARs to Maven Central.

This release improves native plugin UI hosting, introduces a new plugin validation tool, and modernizes the build environment.

Highlights

• Added aapval, a command-line validator for installed AAP plugins and plugin APKs.
  • Validates metadata, lifecycle operations, audio output, parameter and MIDI transport, state, and presets.
  • Supports human-readable, JSON, and JUnit output for local development and CI.
• Added IME support for native plugin UIs, enabling text input in embedded editors.
• Improved native UI lifecycle and resource cleanup:
  • Fixed leaked SurfaceView and GUI resources after disconnection.
  • Guarded against duplicate disconnection requests.
• Fixed an intermittent crash when relaunching the host shortly after quitting.
• Improved the generic plugin manager UI on smaller screens.
• Added PluginInstance.copyAudioOutputsTo() to the JavaScript controller API for offline audio-processing test graphs.

New Plugins and Hosts

• meteaurestudios/greenhouse is the newest plugin host application that is at the moment best suited for experiencing the AAP world, especially on handsets.
• aap-juce-vmpc is a port of VMPC-JUCE, an Akai MPC emulator plugin.
• aap-juce-usf2plugin for SoundFonts as AAP, using TinySoundFont fork (of mine).
• aap-juce-dusk-audio-plugins is a port of Dusk Audio Plugins, which is an essential plugin collection for their own Dusk Studio DAW.
• aap-juce-altar is a port of Altar, an easy-to-use NAM plugin with bundled presets (good for AAP).
• aap-juce-aelapse is a port of ÆLAPSE, a delay+reverb plugin with impressive presets.

Most of these JUCE plugins are now ported with AI coding agents with a bunch of former plugin ports of mine. Now they know how to remove modal dialogs, default addToDesktop(), among handful of anti-patterns for JUCE on Android.

aap-lv2-sfizz updates and SFZ APKs

Apart from these, aap-lv2-sfizz got a major update so that now it can load external SFZ files from certain folders and external SFZ APKs. I have created the following normative SFZ APKs:

• aap-sfz-vpo3, the bundle for Virtual Playing Orchestra 3.
• aap-sfz-salamander-drumkit, the bundle for Salamander Drumkit.
