[1.4.0] - 2026-07-13

The Failure Record and the conformance-for-PRs foundation.

Added

  • Failure Record v1 (hotato.failure-record.v1): a content-addressed,
    five-lane record projected from a test-run, suite-run, or contract-verify
result. hotato record render SOURCE[#TEST_ID] --out DIR renders it to
deterministic JSON, Markdown, inert self-contained HTML, and a 1200x630 SVG,
    all carrying the same record id. Outcome claims cite tool/state evidence;
transcript-only outcomes are refused. Safe projection excludes raw audio,
transcript bodies, payload values, secrets, environment values, and absolute
    paths by default.
  • Consumer GitHub Action (root action.yml): an unrelated repository can
pin it by commit SHA to run a committed Hotato suite/test/contract and get a
five-lane job summary (with the reproduction command and acceptance-check
ids) on pass and failure, artifact and exit outputs, and hotato's own gate
status as the step exit. Read-only permissions; the default gate installs no
model, ASR, Node tool, or external judge.
  • hotato regression prepare: turn one confirmed failure into a sanitized,
deterministic, committed regression bundle on disk (rights and redaction read
from versioned metadata files). It prepares files locally and stops; it never
uploads, commits, opens a pull request, or changes an agent.
  • Failure record viewer in hotato serve: a read-only /records list and
detail view over the workspace records, token-gated and path-contained, with
    an explicit empty state.
