What's new

  • Recover a stale Screen & System Audio Recording permission from Settings and permissions… → Recover system audio permission, with confirmation in Heed. Recovery resets only Heed's system audio grant, restarts the menu app, and opens the macOS authorization flow.
  • Recovery is unavailable while recording, processing or updating. Heed waits for a fresh permission report before showing system audio access as available.

Update from Heed

On Heed 0.1.4, open Updates → Check for updates…, then select Update… and confirm version 0.1.5. Finish active recording or processing before installing. The updater verifies the release assets, preserves meetings and settings, and restarts Heed.

Install or upgrade from Terminal

Requires an Apple Silicon Mac with macOS 14 or later and Homebrew. See the installation guide.

Permissions after upgrading

macOS may require Microphone and Screen & System Audio Recording authorization again after the app signature changes. Use Settings and permissions… and Check permissions again. If system audio remains unavailable despite an allowed status, use Recover system audio permission and complete the macOS authorization prompt. Existing recordings, transcripts and settings are preserved.
