Feature: some notebook tabs don't remember the last-opened tab across sessions

What happened?

To reproduce:
I take a raw into darkroom, click Color calibration, and the Outputs tab appears, whereas I would generally expect CAT.
I click CAT, make a change, escape to lightroom, quit Ansel, relaunch, back to Color calibration, but Output still appears.
I would expect the last tab to be remembered.
Something similar has happened with other modules previously. It's intermittent.

I'd say it's not a serious issue but still something to sort out. I only occasionaly use the Output tab/notebook but Ansel is hanging on to it like a dog with a bone! Whereas I use CAT in every photo, but it won't remember it. That's seems like something that can be improved.

I agree, this feature seems to have good reason to exist.
I’m not saying it’s not an issue, but it’s not a bug for us because it doesn’t meet any of the bug qualification criteria (see the top of the forms).

However, "Features" should go into GitHub "discussions" so we can talk about these and understand the problem they’re meant to solve.

To explain the current behavior a bit:
Some notebooks save the page because the code was written in the module, when the authors found it useful, but it does not globally apply to all GTK notebooks.
