First public preview release of FOSSE — Social Web for WordPress.

FOSSE gives WordPress site owners a single place to configure how their posts are represented across federated networks, then routes publishing through the right backend for each protocol. This release bundles wordpress-activitypub and wordpress-atmosphere, so a fresh site can publish to ActivityPub networks (Mastodon and the wider fediverse) and AT Protocol networks (Bluesky) out of the box, with one setup wizard and a unified admin surface.

This is a preview release. Options, admin UI, and internal APIs may shift before 1.0. Production self-hosters should expect some upgrade churn.

Install

Download fosse.zip (attached below; the build workflow uploads it shortly after this release is published), then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate, and walk the setup wizard.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.9 or newer
  • PHP 8.2 or newer
