Fifth preview of FOSSE. Brings the bundled backends up to Atmosphere 2.4.0 and ActivityPub 9.3.1, and ships the deactivation/uninstall lifecycle.

What's changed since 0.1.3

  • Bundled wordpress-atmosphere updated to 2.4.0 (#250, #257): the Bluesky login no longer expires every two weeks (existing sites reconnect once to switch over), per-post reply restrictions, a Bluesky column and "Share to Bluesky" retry in the posts list, rate-limit handling, connection-only mode, and a batch of new Site Health checks. Subscriber-only content is no longer shared to Bluesky.
  • Bundled wordpress-activitypub updated to 9.3.1 (#250, #257): mostly security and correctness work. Incoming activities are bound to their signing key and actor, remote content is sanitized before it's stored, followers and reader data are no longer readable anonymously over REST, and RFC 9421 HTTP signatures are on by default.
  • Deactivation lifecycle (#92): uninstall cleans up only FOSSE-owned data (never activitypub_* or atmosphere_*), plus a handoff row on the Plugins screen when a standalone ActivityPub or Atmosphere is present.
  • Backend readiness probe (#232): reports whether each federation backend is present, where it comes from (bundled or standalone), and whether it meets FOSSE's minimum version.
  • Fixes: photo-post caption, embed, and dimension federation (#203); more accurate publish-event metrics (#204); Bluesky domain-handle updates hardened against upstream drift (#201); Atmosphere filter callbacks hardened against non-bool values (#196); native Atmosphere post-type opt-ins preserved in the projector (#193).
  • Dependencies: jetpack-autoloader 6.0 plus routine dev-tooling and CI bumps.

Still a preview release. Options, admin UI, and internal APIs may shift before 1.0.

Install

Download fosse.zip (attached below), then in WordPress go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate, and walk the setup wizard.
