Features

  • Instant indexing: catalog changes are pushed to IndexNow (#530). When a product, category, or shop page changes, the affected URLs plus your AI-discovery surfaces (homepage, /shop/, llms.txt, products.json) are submitted to IndexNow, so Bing-backed AI assistants (ChatGPT Search, Microsoft Copilot, Amazonbot) re-crawl quickly. Google does not consume IndexNow, so this complements — not replaces — your existing Google structured data and sitemap.
    • Default on, gated behind AI syndication and a new indexnow_enabled setting; the auto-generated key is served at a virtual /{key}.txt for ownership verification.
    • Debounced and batched: changes are deduped and submitted in a single WP-Cron batch — no per-save HTTP, no editor latency, and a bulk import collapses into one submission per window.
    • Fail-safe: unsupported responses are handled without retry storms; submission never blocks a save or surfaces to shoppers.

Fixes

  • Single, correct Open Graph and meta description on commerce pages when Jetpack is active (#527). On Jetpack-enabled stores (every WordPress.com / Atomic store) the plugin and Jetpack both emitted social/SEO tags on product, category, and shop pages, producing a duplicate <meta name="description"> and duplicate — sometimes conflicting — Open Graph tags (e.g. og:title "Shop" vs the store brand). Bing Webmaster flagged the duplication.
    • Our own archive Open Graph is completed first: adds og:locale, an og:image fallback (configured default via the new wc_ai_storefront_og_default_image filter → site logo → site icon), and uses the store brand for og:title when the shop archive is the site front page.
    • Jetpack's overlapping output is then suppressed only on those commerce pages: its Open Graph block is removed (wp_head priority 9 — after Jetpack's priority-1 loader, before its priority-10 emit) and its SEO meta description dropped via the jetpack_seo_meta_tags filter. Off commerce pages Jetpack is untouched.
    • The SEO-plugin detector now recognizes Jetpack as auto-handled, so the "deactivate your SEO plugin" notice never names it.
