Space Invaders Game - Overview This is a Python-based Space Invaders game developed using the pygame library. The game is a classic arcade shooter where the player controls a spaceship and shoots down enemy invaders while avoiding collisions. It features multiple enemies, player lives, a scoring system, high score tracking, and background music.
Features Interactive Gameplay
Control the spaceship using arrow keys. Fire bullets with the spacebar to destroy enemies. Enemies
Multiple enemies move across the screen and descend toward the player. Collision with the player or enemies reaching the bottom decreases lives. Game States

Keeps track of the highest score achieved in a session. Background Music and Sounds
Engaging background music and sound effects for bullets and explosions. Graphics
Customizable backgrounds, player sprites, enemies, and bullets. Prerequisites Python Ensure Python 3.x is installed on your system.

File Structure project_directory/ │ ├── space_invaders.py # Main game script ├── background.jpg # Game background image ├── spaceship.png # Game icon ├── player.png # Player spaceship sprite ├── enemy.png # Enemy sprite ├── bullet.png # Bullet sprite ├── background.wav # Background music ├── laser.wav # Bullet firing sound effect ├── explosion.wav # Explosion sound effect └── highscore.txt # High score storage (created at runtime) Known Issues If sound files are missing or cannot be loaded, the game will proceed without sound, and a message will be printed in the console. Ensure all image files are of compatible formats (e.g., PNG, JPG) and resolutions for optimal performance. Future Enhancements Add more enemy types with unique behaviors. Include power-ups for the player. Introduce levels with increasing difficulty. Credits This project was developed using Python and the Pygame library.
