How good is PicCap running on rooted LG webOS TVs instead of a USB capture device?

Is it the same speed/latency and quality?

PicCap's using HyperHDR color calibration is actually better than an average cheap USB grabber, but it suffers more from narrow quantization. However, a P010 grabber is superior to both in these regards. You can find more details in the discussions and research that led to the NV12 implementation on webOS and new calibration here: #896

What about latency and frame rate using PicCap vs P010 grabber?

I'm not using webos but P010 Ugreen/Elgato despite I have Piccap capable LG TV. From users that use it on webos light can reacts dozen ms faster than TV. At least when TV is in the cinema like mode which introduce some latecy for the TV itself. So I guess it's not bad. But a USB 3.0 grabber capturing will likely still be faster. It receives the signal before the TV does, and with a total grabber latency of around 50ms and negligible HyperHDR processing time, it should beat native capture in pure speed.
