What's new

• The logo in the dock. The B sits where the word ASTRAL was, in your theme's colors.
• It breathes. A slow glow and a band of light along Vest's angle, in the dock, Settings, the popup, the Calendar and the update page. It stays still if your system asks for less motion.
• Light theme, light logo. With the Light theme the logo's tile turns light too.

Better Vest 9.0.1

What's new

• Close 10%, 25%, 75% or your own share. Hover 50% on the Execute card. Set your own share in Settings > Sizes.
• Three editions. Standard, Lite and No stats. The update page can switch you to another one.
• An update pop-up. From the next version on, a small panel says what's new when an update is out, only while you're flat, once a day at most.

Fixed

• The copy trader copies a partial close again. Since Vest's update, a 50% or a partial sell on the leader wasn't copied, so the followers kept their full size until you closed all of it.
• FLAT, 50% and REV with Vest's Minis or Micros. Vest's close window now rounds down to whole contracts in those units, so FLAT could close nothing and 50% less than half. Better Vest switches the window to NQ first and puts your unit back after.

Updating: click Update in the dock, then Update. Your copy stays the edition it is unless you pick another. The Security page and the site's privacy page are updated for this version.

Better Vest 9.0

A voice for your orders, stops at a price sized by your risk, up to four charts, locks that hold, and your day as a GIF.

What's new

• Voice. Hear what filled, what stopped out and what's coming up. Six voices, and nothing is sent anywhere.
• Stop and target at a price. In points, dollars or the price itself, checked before anything is sent.
• Size from risk. Type the dollars you'd lose and the size follows your stop.
• Every market. E, Q, LIMIT and STOP on everything Vest lists, with a size per market.
• The New York open and the news. A countdown to 9:30, CPI, NFP, FOMC and the rest.
• Locks that hold. Lock yourself out for 15 minutes or the rest of the day, plus a daily profit limit and a tilt guard.
• Up to four charts, each with its own market and timeframe.
• Your day as a GIF, replayed second by second, and the P&L card pops up after a good close.

Fixed: a losing close that showed a big "green exit", orders priced from the last market right after a switch, and a few smaller ones.

Better Vest 8.2.2

Works with Vest's new size units (Minis and Micros), and Log out and Add account are back in the account menu.

Fixed

• Vest's new size units. Vest's ticket on NQ, ES and RTY now has a unit menu: USD, NQ, Minis and Micros. Better Vest only knew the old USD / NQ switch, so on 8.2.0 your card's size went in as whatever unit the ticket showed. A size of 3 with the ticket on Micros was 6 NQ, on Minis 60 NQ, on USD $3. Now LONG, SHORT, REV, the W and S keys and stop orders set the ticket to NQ first, and send nothing if it won't change.
• Limit orders. The E and Q keys and LIMIT from the chart refused every order with "the ticket size unit is not NQ". They work again.
• Copy trader. Ultra-fast reads Vest's own ticket again when it is in NQ. With the ticket on USD, Minis or Micros it waits for the position instead of guessing the size.
• Size readout on ES and RTY. With the ticket on Micros or Minis the card says what you get, like "= 3 MES".

What's new

• Add account and Log out are back in the account menu, at the bottom. They use Vest's own items. Log out asks for a second click first, because Vest logs you out of every Vest tab.

Better Vest 8.2

Every account's limits at a glance, copy groups with their own leaders, payouts in one click, and a P&L card you can make your own.

What's new

• Accounts and limits. A new account menu: every account with its value, today, and three bars, how much of today's loss limit is left, the room above your max loss, and how far to the profit goal. Search, filters, pins and nicknames. The same three numbers sit in the thin bar under Vest's header, and a click opens a panel with the floor-to-target line and the room in points at your card's size. Every part has its own switch in Settings > Layout.
• Request payouts. In Manage accounts, claim 100% of what your funded accounts have available, all of them or the ones you pick. It shows what each account would claim and what you receive first, then goes through Vest's own Claim profit window, one account at a time.
• Copy groups. Several leaders, each with its own followers. An account copies in one group at a time, and switching one on in another group moves it there. A group whose leader isn't your tab's account copies from its own tab, which the extension opens and keeps awake. By default a follower sits out a trade that would put it on the opposite side to an account of another group, because Vest's rules forbid that on funded accounts.
• Copy trader, cleaner. A small Log switch (off by default), the groups on the left, and the support box down to one line.
• P&L card. Show your P&L in points. Rows by account, market, copy group, trade or session, for today, yesterday, this week, this month or any day. Replay now lets you style the chart: your own chart's candle colors, candles, hollow, bars, line, area or Heikin Ashi, any timeframe, and grid, axes, boxes and lines on or off. Video plays your day right in the page before you save it.

Fixed

• With two Vest tabs open, one tab could undo a setting you changed in the other, and a stop order that had already fired could come back armed. Each tab now saves only what it changed, and a stop order is sent by one tab, once.
• After adding to a position or closing part of it, the stop check could use an old liquidation price.

Limit orders from the chart, cancel all orders from FLAT, a loss limit that closes your positions, and faster TP and SL.

What's new

• LIMIT. Next to STOP on the card. Press it, click the chart: below the price a buy limit, above a sell limit, a real order on Vest placed through its own ticket. The price snaps to the tick as you aim, and a price the market already reached is refused.
• SL/TP on Stop & Limit. A switch above STOP and LIMIT. On, both carry the card's stop and target. Off, which is the default, they go in plain. Heads up: STOP used to always carry them.
• Cancel all orders. Hover FLAT and it shows above it. It cancels every order you have waiting on the account, stop and limit orders on every market, and leaves your TP, SL and positions alone.
• The loss limit can close your positions. Settings > Risk > Close my positions at the limit, on by default. At your limit it closes every position of that account, one by one through Vest's own Close button, and keeps you flat until the reset hour.
• TP and SL, faster. A second drag, BE right after a drag, Undo and the trailing stop go straight to Vest instead of waiting for the change before to show. The labels show up as soon as Vest has your position, and when you get in with the card they're up the moment you press, marked SENDING.

Also

• The Execute card is a bit wider, so every button fits on one row.
• A fix for two quick stop changes on a position with no stop yet, which could leave two stops on it.
• Lighter on the page while a position is on the chart.

Better Vest 8.1

Stop orders, a trailing stop, risk in dollars, and a P&L card to post your day.

What's new

• Stop orders. Press STOP on the card, click the chart: above the price a buy stop, below a sell stop. When the price touches it, it sends a market order with your stop and target, once. It never fires on a gap, and it works while the tab is open.
• Trailing stop. TRAIL on the card: start after X in profit, trail Y behind the best price, or NOW. The stop only tightens, and dragging it back by hand turns it off for that position.
• Auto breakeven. AUTO BE on the card: once a position is X in profit, the stop goes to breakeven, once.
• Stop and target in dollars. A PT | $ switch on each. In dollars, the points follow your size, and RISK shows the real dollars.
• MNQ view. Settings > Market: NQ sizes shown as MNQ everywhere on the page. Display only, Vest still gets NQ.
• P&L card. P&L in the dock: today's P&L as an image to post, with Vest's logo. One account, several, or your copy group as a list. Dark or light, four styles, four sizes. Replay draws your trades on Vest's candles, and you can pick the trades and the time range.

• Vest's own logo stays in the top left again. Mine moved into Settings.

Better Vest 8.0.5

The copy trader, fixed from a night of my own real trades with nine followers: adds, TP/SL and limit orders copy properly now, one follower's trouble never stops the others, and Turbo is back.

What's fixed

• Adds and opens on the followers. Vest refused copied adds with "invalid leverage" because the copier sent the leverage Vest works out for a position (like 50.0012x). It sends the whole number now, like Vest's own ticket.
• TP and SL. Setting a TP or SL could fail on every follower and pause them all. The copier now finds Vest's TP/SL function every time, and a missing one never pauses anyone.
• Limit orders. They could sit on "held" until yours filled. They're copied now, usually within a second.
• A refused order is fixed at once. If Vest turns down a follower's order, the copier tries again right away, and if it's refused twice it pauses that follower with Vest's reason in plain words.
• One follower's sign-in problem doesn't stop the others. That follower retries after 1, 2, 4 and then 6 seconds while the rest keep copying. When it's back, it only joins your running trade if it's under 30 seconds old and the price is still near your entry.
• A rare FLAT bug. Going flat could open your followers the other way for a few seconds. Fixed.
• Market orders while a limit rests. A follower with a resting limit no longer gets refused when you trade at market on the same market.
• Chart TP/SL now tells you when it's hidden because the price scale is on the left (right-click the scale, Move scale to right).

What's new

• Turbo is back. One hidden Vest tab per follower, grouped and collapsed, so every copy is a single trip to Vest. A tab that reloads, freezes or gets unloaded by Chrome no longer pauses anyone, and one slow tab no longer holds the others. Light stays the default; pick Turbo under the mode.
• Ultra-fast, a switch in the copier, off by default. Your opens and adds go out to the followers the moment your order leaves, about one round trip sooner. If Vest refuses your order, the followers are closed again.

Speed estimates (nine followers, my own accounts, from Vest accepting your order to the last follower's answer; your connection and Vest's load change these):

• Light: about 0.35 to 0.45 seconds (about 0.45 to 0.6 s from your click).
• Light with Ultra-fast: about 0.2 to 0.35 seconds (about 0.35 to 0.45 s from your click).
• Turbo with Ultra-fast: about 0.1 to 0.25 seconds (about 0.3 s from your click).
