@az-coder-123 az-coder-123 released this 22 Oct 15:00

Azdroid v1.4.1 (macOS & Windows)

New

  • In-App Software Update & Version Discovery System (docs):
    • Ambient Toolbar Indicator: An unobtrusive status icon in the AppBar displays a notification badge dot when a newer version is released on GitHub.
    • Contextual Notification Banner: A dismissible card appears at the top of the discovery dashboard when an update is available.
    • macOS-Native Update Dialog: Rich modal interface showcasing release titles, publish dates, full markdown changelogs, asset file sizes, and 1-click download actions.
    • Semantic Versioning Engine: Numerical SemVer comparison (MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH+BUILD) guaranteeing accurate version comparisons without string-sorting quirks.
    • Rate-Limit & Offline Guard: Automatic checks are throttled to 12-hour intervals to protect GitHub API limits, failing gracefully without obstructing startup or device mirroring.

Improved

  • Universal Responsiveness: Adaptive dialog layouts prevent RenderFlex overflows across constrained windows and varied desktop display scalings.
  • Strict Architecture Boundaries: The updater feature is completely decoupled and wired at the composition root using flutter_bloc and dependency injection (updater_di.dart).

Fixed

  • Pinned device log dialog header outside high-frequency stream rebuilds to guarantee immediate close button responsiveness.

Known Limitations

  • The app is not signed with an Apple Developer ID. If macOS blocks it, run xattr -cr /Applications/Azdroid.app once.
  • The bundled MCP server (azdroid-mcp) is built for Intel only; on Apple Silicon it runs via Rosetta 2.
  • On Windows, the build is not code-signed. If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.

Azdroid v1.4.0

@az-coder-123 az-coder-123 released this 22 Oct 12:36

Azdroid v1.4.0 (macOS)

New

  • Leaner MCP catalog: 38 tools (was 61). Related operations share one tool with a mode parameter (for example android_tap with taps: 2 or holdMs, android_press_key with panels and game keys, android_get_device_stats with kind), so clients that cap the tool count (Cursor, about 40 across all servers) see every tool. The older tool names still work when called.
  • App and game development tools (guide):
    • android_find_image: finds a picture on screens without a UI tree (games), from an image file or a saved screen region.
    • android_run_instrumentation: runs an app's on-device tests (am instrument) and lists failures with their stack traces.
    • android_set_display_config: dark mode, font scale, density, and screen size, with reset.
    • android_get_logcat with package and sinceSeconds; android_get_device_stats with kind: "fps" (SurfaceFlinger, covers games) and "thermal"; android_launch_app with measure: true (launch time); android_wait_for_condition with image_present and screen_changed.
  • Real multi-finger touch: android_multitouch_gesture with gesture: "strokes" plays up to 10 fingers at once with millisecond timing (hold a joystick while tapping). Pinch and rotation now use two real fingers.
  • Safety annotations and agent instructions: every tool declares read-only or destructive hints; the server explains its workflow and which tools need confirmation on initialize.

Improved

  • Faster input: taps, swipes, keys, and batch steps go through a control-only scrcpy session that the MCP server starts on first use, with adb shell input as the fallback. Measured on a Moto g play (USB) and a Redmi 9 (Wi-Fi): about 50 ms per tap after the first call, against 0.1–1.2 s per adb shell input command.
  • Screen fractions follow the current orientation (landscape works) and a changed screen size.
  • Text keeps its spaces; coordinates keep their unit (xPixel: 1 is pixel 1).

Fixed

  • Crash check no longer reports logcat's buffer headers as a crash, and reports real crash-buffer entries.
  • Clearing a text field now clears it (it removed one character).
  • Clipboard, biometrics, mock location, and notification tools report when the device lacks the command instead of claiming success.
  • Text sent to the device shell is quoted (an apostrophe broke the command; ; could run another).
  • With several devices connected, tools ask for deviceSerial instead of using the first one.
  • Launch timing on a locked screen stops after 30 s instead of hanging the server; the server exits when its client disconnects.

  • Windows: no new build in this release; use the v1.3.0 Windows package.
  • android_run_instrumentation has not yet been run against a real test APK; its parser is tested with sample output.
  • The first touch or key call starts the scrcpy session (about 1.5 s over USB, 3.5 s over Wi-Fi).

Azdroid v1.3.0 (macOS & Windows)

New

  • Extended MCP Gesture & Automation Tools (61 tools total):
    • android_scroll: Directional smooth scrolling (up, down, left, right) with customizable pixel distance, duration, and anchor coordinates.
    • android_pinch_gesture: Two-finger pinch in / pinch out zoom gestures with configurable center point, finger spacing, and step counts.
    • android_rotate_gesture: Two-finger rotation gesture around a focal point with configurable start and end angles in degrees.
    • android_wait_for_condition: Host-level polling tool for automated agent workflows, evaluating conditions (element_exists, element_gone, text_contains, activity_resumed) with timeout and interval options.
    • ROI Screenshot Cropping: android_take_screenshot supports an optional crop_rect parameter (x, y, width, height) to crop region-of-interest directly upon capture.
    • Compound Batch Actions: android_batch_actions compiler now executes double_tap, pinch, and rotate steps in sequence.
    • Normalized Percentage Coordinates: Gestures and touch inputs accept fractional (0.0–1.0) and percentage strings (e.g., "50%") in addition to absolute pixel coordinates.

Improved

  • Standalone MCP CLI Decoupling: Decoupled AppLogger from the Flutter foundation framework, allowing deskdroid-mcp to run as a lean, pure Dart CLI process with zero Flutter framework dependencies.
  • Modular Gesture Architecture: Extracted dedicated gesture executors and motion interpolators adhering strictly to Single Responsibility Principle.

Known Limitations

  • The app is not signed with an Apple Developer ID. If macOS blocks it, run xattr -cr /Applications/Azdroid.app once.
  • The bundled MCP server (deskdroid-mcp) is built for Intel only; on Apple Silicon it runs seamlessly via Rosetta 2.
  • On Windows, the build is not code-signed. If SmartScreen shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.

DeskDroid v1.2.1

Choose a tag to compare

@az-coder-123 az-coder-123 released this 18 Oct 17:13

DeskDroid v1.2.1 (macOS)

Fixed

  • Wi-Fi devices stuck as "unauthorized": the phone asks "Allow USB debugging?" only when a connection opens, and on a new computer that first prompt often appeared during auto-discovery and timed out unseen. Mirroring then failed on every retry. DeskDroid now reconnects an unauthorized Wi-Fi device before reporting the error, so the prompt appears again: watch the phone, tap Allow, and retry.

Everything else is as in v1.2.0.

Known Limitations

  • The app is not signed with an Apple Developer ID. If macOS blocks it, run xattr -cr /Applications/DeskDroid.app once.
  • The bundled MCP server (deskdroid-mcp) is built for Intel only; on Apple Silicon it needs Rosetta 2.
  • No Windows package for this version yet. The Windows (Preview) package v1.2.0 already includes this fix.

DeskDroid v1.2.0 (macOS)

New

  • MCP server status: a hub icon in the device list toolbar shows whether the bundled MCP server runs, which AI clients (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Antigravity) are set up to use it, and how many AI sessions are connected. Its panel copies the client configuration with the right path.
  • Live AI activity: the panel lists each AI session and its recent tool calls, and the mirroring page shows a banner while an AI is controlling that device. Only tool names, devices, results, and durations are recorded, never what the AI types.

Improved

  • Mirroring controls: the controls now sit in two vertical docks beside the phone; the bottom bar is gone. The power button is at the top in red, Inject Text is at the top of the side toolbar, the Logcat console at the bottom, and Keep Phone Awake moved to the hardware controls.
  • Showcase and User Guide: keyboard shortcuts match your OS (Cmd on macOS, Ctrl on Windows), and categories show how many features they hold.

Fixed

  • The MCP tool android_get_current_app failed on Android 10 phones and while the lock screen or notification shade was open. It now names the app and the window in front of it.

The new status panel tells you when Rosetta is missing.
  • No Windows package for this version yet. The latest Windows (Preview) package is v1.0.1.

@az-coder-123 az-coder-123 released this 18 Oct 11:05

DeskDroid v1.1.0 (macOS)

New

  • Multi-touch: two-finger pinch and rotate from the trackpad, or Alt + drag with a mouse.
  • Live trackpad scrolling: two-finger scrolling drags the phone screen in real time, so lists fling as they do on the phone.
  • Unicode text: the text input (Cmd + K) pastes Vietnamese, CJK, and emoji intact.
  • Screen Off (Cmd + O): turns the phone's display off while mirroring and control continue.
  • Keep Phone Awake: sun icon in the side toolbar, on by default. The phone does not sleep while mirroring, and no phone setting is changed.
  • Audio forwarding (Android 11+): the phone's sound plays on the computer.
  • ADB is bundled: no separate ADB installation is needed on macOS.

Improved

  • scrcpy-server upgraded from v2.1 to v5.0.1: mirroring works on Android 14 QPR3, 15, and 16.
  • Touch, keys, and the Back, Home, and App Switch buttons go through the scrcpy control socket, which is faster and more reliable than adb shell input.
  • The side toolbar no longer overflows in small windows.

The latest Windows (Preview) package is v1.0.1.
