Overview

This release serves as the official historical snapshot for the legacy architecture of Streamsouk. As the project evolves into a more robust streaming platform, v1.0.0 marks the final state of our original setup. The v1 goal was to learn and implement knowledge of React at frontend and Node.js at backend.

Core Features

This version includes the initial foundational features of the platform:

  • User Authentication: Basic register and login.
  • Video Playback: Basic upload to Cloudinary and using the cloudinary link for playback.
  • User Engagement: Liking, commenting, or subscribing to channels.
  • Channel Profiles: Basic user profile pages showcasing uploaded videos, community posts and channel description.

Legacy Architecture & Tech Stack

Frontend (Repo Link) and Backend (Repo Link) are two different independent services, hosted independently.

Note

This repo migrated the two services into a single monorepo and introduces new deployment over a VPS and integrates use of Ngnix as reverse proxy.

This version represents the initial implementation, built with:

  • Backend Environment: Express and Render
  • Frontend: React and Vercel

The v2.0.0 Re-build

The StreamSouk project is all about learning and with v2 the goal is to learn and implement engineering of Video processing.
