Wirepane 1.2.0

Wirepane is a free, open-source HTTP(S) debugger for developers, QA and beginners. It captures the traffic of browsers, phones, Docker and other apps, shows it, and lets you mock, rewrite, block or delay it. It also sends requests and keeps them in collections that you can share as a file (Postman or Bruno format). No account, no paid plan.

Wirepane is built on HTTP Toolkit (AGPL-3.0) and uses packages from Bruno (MIT). It isn't the official HTTP Toolkit and isn't affiliated with it. Wirepane is AGPL-3.0 too, and all of its source is in this repository.

What's in 1.2.0

• Clear one device. In View's Devices panel, right-click a device → Clear this device's traffic: only that device's requests go, at once, with no question. Pinned requests stay, as with Clear.
• Pin devices to the top. Right-click a device → Pin to top keeps the devices you care about right under All devices, with a pin. Pins are saved, and a pinned device keeps its row (with 0) after Clear until it sends traffic again. Unpin puts it back.
• Clear now says how much of the traffic came from pinned devices, as theirs goes too.
• macOS 13.5 or later is required. The server's bundled Node.js 24 is built for it, so the installer now checks the version instead of installing an app whose server can't start.
• Smaller fixes: Shift-click selection right after a device clear, and accessibility (the page language, the request list's header).

Install

This build isn't signed yet: there's no Apple Developer account. So macOS warns once, before the first start: open the .pkg. If macOS says it can't check it, right-click the file → Open → Open, or go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway. Then follow the installer.

Updating from 1.1.0: open the new .pkg. It asks you to quit a running Wirepane, then replaces the app. Your settings, rules, collections and the Wirepane CA stay.

To see HTTPS traffic, a device has to trust Wirepane's own certificate, Wirepane CA: the Intercept page shows how for each device. With VPN mode, turn the tunnel off when you're done, or the phone has no internet while Wirepane isn't running. On macOS 15 or later, macOS asks for local network access the first time VPN mode starts: click Allow.
