XKey 1.0.6.0 Preview

Controlled prerelease for testing the Standalone auto-updater from 1.0.5.0.

Includes the latest committed application fixes, including safer task-pane disposal, and links to the English and Japanese installation and deployment guides.

Test the update

Keep 1.0.5.0 Standalone installed and select the Preview update channel. The updater should offer 1.0.6.0 on the next eligible PowerPoint startup. Automatic checks are limited to once every six hours. For an immediate interactive attempt, run the installed Updater\XKey.Updater.exe --update.

Accept the offer, leave the updater window open, save your presentations and close every PowerPoint window, then approve the Windows administrator prompt. Reopen PowerPoint after installation completes. Postpone cancels the current attempt.

Standalone includes the updater. Intune remains separately managed by IT and contains no self-updater. ClickOnce is not deployed by this publication. See the attached DEPLOYMENT.md and runtime-configuration.md for package instructions.

This prerelease does not change Stable offers. Do not promote it until the installation lifecycle test passes. Automated package and download verification does not replace full Windows/Office lifecycle checks or a real Intune pilot; those remain separate acceptance checks.

XKey 1.0.5.0 Preview

Standalone uses public GitHub Releases for discovery and downloads. Stable follows the GitHub Latest full release; Preview follows the highest published application version, including prereleases. Promote these exact assets by clearing prerelease and marking the release Latest.

This is the GitHub-only cutover: manually install this version once on existing test installations. The old resources-site updater feed has been removed. Intune remains IT-managed without a self-updater. ClickOnce URLs remain unchanged and have a separate deployment process.

Download the Standalone MSI for self-updating installations, or the Intune MSI/ZIP/container for enterprise management. See DEPLOYMENT.md and runtime-configuration.md. Metadata, checksums and validation-report.json identify the exact tested source and files.

Local non-installing checks passed. Full Windows/Office installation lifecycle and real Intune pilot acceptance remain not run; this is a controlled prerelease.
