Talkie 1.1.0 is a verified macOS community preview.

Highlights:

  • fixes empty realtime, batch, and retry transcriptions being treated as success
  • preserves accurate privacy-safe realtime failure categories
  • fixes streamed transcription completion parsing and persistent history-store collisions
  • adds minimal waveform/processing-ring pill styles and appearance controls
  • keeps gpt-live-transcribe as the recommended instant model, with the correct optional gpt-realtime-whisper VAD contract

Verification:

  • 393 logic tests passed
  • deterministic UI: 2 passed, 0 failed, 1 documented macOS Settings automation skip
  • CI and CodeQL passed
  • universal arm64/x86_64 archive, deep code-seal verification, ZIP extraction, legal notices, and SHA-256 verification passed

Important: this asset is ad-hoc signed and NOT Apple-notarized. Gatekeeper rejection is expected. It is an advanced/unsupported community preview, not a supported Developer ID release. Back up your data and follow docs/install-free.md for the manual Gatekeeper installation steps.

Menu-bar push-to-talk dictation for macOS 14+.

Install: download Talkie-1.0.0-adhoc.zip, unzip, drag Talkie.app to Applications. First launch needs a one-time System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway (the build isn't notarized). Full steps: docs/install-free.md.

Then grant Microphone + Accessibility and paste an OpenRouter (or OpenAI) API key in onboarding. Hold fn to dictate.
