Stagehand 1.0.2
Fixes from a code review and from testing on three systems, and one change in how agent access starts.
- Agent access is off by default. The three switches (Agent access, Allow changes, Allow renders) now start off, as the announcement said; turn them on in the Agent tab. They apply to AI agents, meaning everything the MCP server sends. The companion tools you start yourself (recorder, overview capture, stems checker) are not affected. With Agent access on, the put-back commands always work, an agent can read the switches but never change them, and the raw tool never starts a render.
- Stems: no more silent files when REAPER is in the background. With REAPER's preference "Set media items offline when application is not active", a batch started while another app was in front (for example an agent in a terminal) rendered silence. The pre-flight now shows the preference, the batch keeps the media online (SWS) and puts the preference back after, and a silent result names the likely cause.
- Stems: one stem per family / folder / scene keeps the names ("Dialogue", not "Dialogue 2").
- macOS with more than one display: overview capture, the recorder's window layout and the stems matrix dialog work with REAPER on any display.
- Director: Start run switches auto-follow on. Overview: Done in guided capture restores the layout. Glow follows edits of the family rules; HUD honours the progress setting.
- Control protocol: values with spaces are quoted (
key="..."), so result paths with spaces work with the companion tools. - Smaller fixes: ReaImGui child windows, the search fields of the Navigator and Settings, documentation (the full list of MCP tools, the ReaImGui install note, Glow styles).
Install / update: Extensions > ReaPack > Synchronize packages (index https://raw.githubusercontent.com/b451c/Stagehand/main/index.xml).

Demo video: on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VzbV2THo3BI , and as files: Stagehand_demo_1080p.mp4 below (English, 3:58; a 720p copy too) and Stagehand_demo_PL_1080p.mp4 (Polish, 4:20), with subtitles as .srt / .vtt. Recorded on 1.0.2: a scripted tour of a generated demo session, every action done with the mouse; the narration is a synthetic voice.
Stagehand 1.0.1
Fixes and one new capability after the review of 1.0.0.
- The About tab, the window title line and the log show the package version read from the ReaPack header (1.0.0 showed
0.1.0-dev). - Agent access: the shot list can be written through the protocol (
director shots set | add | update | remove | clear | from_scenes) and the MCP toolstagehand_shots_set, so an agent can set up a whole showcase from a description. - GitHub Pages: the repository root redirects to the user guide.
- Demo video re-recorded: new narration, the agent segment shows an agent editing a caption, the closing segment and the end card corrected.
Install / update: Extensions > ReaPack > Synchronize packages (index https://raw.githubusercontent.com/b451c/Stagehand/main/index.xml).

Demo video: Stagehand_demo_1080p.mp4 below (4 min; a 720p copy too). The narration and the edit were produced by an AI agent from a scripted tour of the demo session.
Everything Stagehand changes in a project is journaled and put back on Restore, on close, after a script error and at REAPER's exit. Verified with scripted self-test scenarios on Linux, Windows and macOS.
