Android Chrome Shortcut ensures that when an Android user with Chrome based browser creates a shortcut to your Backdrop site, that a shortcut is created rather than offering to install as an app.
It fixes an odd behavior with Chrome based browers on Android. For an unknown reason, when you try to add a shortcut (via 'Add to Home Screen') to a Backdrop CMS website, it offers to install as an app rather than create a shortcut. This module creates and delivers a minimal web manifest file that tells the browser that the website should be opened in the browser, which ensures a shortcut is created rather than an app installed.
Install this module using the official Backdrop CMS instructions at https://docs.backdropcms.org/documentation/extend-with-modules.
Bugs and feature requests should be reported in the Issue Queue.
