Downloads
Podcasts and audiobooks
- Subscribe to podcasts by RSS, download episodes, customize covers, star shows
or episodes, and manage their device copies in the Zune island. - Choose newest, oldest or individual episodes to queue. Optionally queue the
newest unplayed episodes from starred shows when a Zune connects, with a
configurable count and per-show preferences. Transfers still require Sync. - Optionally remove firmware-marked-played podcasts on the next sync. Removal
actions appear in the queue first. Keep on Zune protects individual episodes;
local downloads remain separate. Unknown device state preserves media. - Import audiobook files or folders, organize books into Libraries with the
familiar drag-to-island workflow, and customize covers. Removing a Library
preserves its books and source files. - Queue whole books. Chaptered sources are prepared as ordered device parts
during sync, preserving the source timeline and original files. - Spoken playback uses the existing top ribbon or Now Playing island, with
appropriate skip, speed, chapter, bookmark and sleep controls. Setup offers
spoken-media defaults that can be changed later in Settings.
Zune 80 and 120 corrections
- Podcast transfers recognize the metadata and title-derived filenames returned
by second-generation Zune 80/120 players (Draco), avoiding incorrect readback
failures while retaining exact episode identity and size checks. - Device audiobook browsing, book/part grouping, artwork and confirmed removal
now cover Draco, alongside the existing Classic and HD paths. Unsupported
models report unavailable browsing instead of an empty library. - Podcast cleanup checks live inventory first. A successful empty inventory is
a no-op; a failed inventory read still blocks deletion. Draco listening-state
reads now use the verified Classic-format records with exact live identities. - Device spoken-page refreshes are deferred and coalesced to prevent reentrant
updates while opening the page or changing devices.
Playback and presentation
Short or narrow windows use Now Playing instead of a ribbon overlapping the
library. The island has a visible top-right X that turns red on interaction,
and Escape dismisses it when it has focus. Resizing while playing or paused
adapts the player; advancing a track does not reopen a dismissed island.
Podcast and audiobook covers use the application’s rounded artwork style.
Downloads and testing
Downloads include x86_64 and experimental aarch64 AppImages, built from
the same reviewed source. ARM64 requires a 64-bit desktop system; the Debian 13
build baseline is not a promise of compatibility with older distributions.
Zuuned bundles libzune, so application users do not install it separately.
Classic podcast audio/covers have existing user acceptance. Isolated small
multipart audiobook transfer/readback tests have passed on Classic, HD and
Draco. The Draco test verified ordered audio and cover bytes and removed its
own test objects; it did not establish physical playback, resume or GUI cover
presentation.
Draco listening-state readback matched fifteen live, unplayed episodes. That
establishes baseline reader compatibility, not a completed-episode transition
or successful automatic deletion. End-to-end GUI played-podcast cleanup still
needs acceptance on Classic, HD and Draco. HD podcast playback/artwork,
firmware audiobook resume, long-book transitions and other model-specific
behavior remain separate gates. Scorpius remains unsupported for device audiobook
browsing and played-podcast cleanup.
The earlier ARM candidate launched and connected to a Zune on the user’s Pi;
that result does not certify the new release’s complete playback/sync workflows.
The layout matrix is a software test, not Bazzite compositor certification.
DRM-protected books, video podcast transfer and HD artist backgrounds are not
supported by this update.
Report the app version, distribution, desktop/session, CPU architecture, Zune
model and reproduction steps with a reviewed diagnostics report from
Settings → Health. See tester installation and logs.

Zuuned Linux 0.1.2
Zuuned Linux 0.1.2
A new Linux testing build with the music-library improvements added after 0.1.1.
Changes
- Improved artist identification using provider IDs and aliases.
- Album artwork matching considers edition information, track lists, disc positions and year. Confident album matches can use a general cover when exact-edition artwork is unavailable.
- Existing file artwork and manual artwork choices remain protected. Artwork discovery does not rename albums or add edition labels.
- Verified duplicate audio copies across imported folders share a single library presentation while retaining physical files and separate known album editions.
- Clearer artwork matching outcomes and saved manual provider selections.
- Setup background choices consistently offer the next step.
Download
Download Zuuned-Linux-0.1.2-x86_64.AppImage and its .sha256 file. The other assets are source, licensing and build records; they are not needed to run the app. See TESTER-README.md for launch instructions and exporting a debug report.
This is a development testing prerelease built on Debian 13, with Qt 6.8.2 and glibc 2.41. It targets x86_64 Linux with X11/XWayland and OpenGL. Older glibc distributions and ARM are not certified.
Build source
Application baseline 426005d74320814f3341d7be8bfced52f854ed90 and libzune baseline d29bf7a5492b481f3211fbaeb3c596a00db7c742, both with working changes. The embedded build metadata reports both components as dirty; this is not presented as a clean tagged source build.
Use Zuuned-Linux-0.1.2-Source.tar.gz for this build's public application/libzune snapshot. GitHub's automatically generated source archives follow the tag target and are not the exact build snapshot. The populated authentication header is excluded from public source; the official executable retains embedded authentication. The source archive includes build instructions for supplying that input.
Validation
- All 35 native software test groups passed.
- Packaging/export regressions and recursive inventory of 334 bundled ELF files passed.
- The exact AppImage passed an isolated Debian desktop rehearsal: fresh setup, media imports, artwork settings, desktop folder/open/save dialogs, diagnostics export, nested photo-album creation and restart persistence.
- Public source export and authentication-boundary checks passed.
- SHA256:
2d5b68056bdc7d8ce182f8da58b2b27cbb0fd41b8c742855b8eb16bbe583d3b3.
Limits
Artwork providers can have missing images, ambiguous releases or outages. Duplicate grouping verifies encoded audio copies; differently encoded versions can remain separate. Existing device duplicates are not automatically deleted. Container checks do not certify physical Zune transfers, hardware photo presentation, real GPU/audio playback or every Linux desktop. No new physical-device certification is claimed for this executable.
Original application and libzune code are GPL-3.0-or-later; third-party terms remain separate. See LICENSE.txt, COPYING.md and THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.tar.gz.

Zuuned Linux 0.1.1
Zuuned Linux 0.1.1
This release fixes artwork discovery and artist reuse during Zune sync.
- Missing album covers now search all known local track locations before trying online artwork. Existing file, embedded and customized covers are preserved.
- Artist artwork lookup uses library album information to help distinguish artists with the same name, and retries temporary lookup failures once. Ambiguous identities can still require Customize.
- Settings → Library → find missing artwork retries discovery for your library.
- Zune sync reuses existing artist objects instead of creating a new artist for each transfer batch. Existing duplicates are not automatically removed.
- The grunge border stays visible while replacement masks load during window resizing.

Repository migration, October 4, 2026
This is the original testing AppImage copied to the new account, not a new build.
Its SHA256 is unchanged. Newer artwork matching and duplicate-handling changes
in the current source are not included merely because the repository moved.
Application source and issues: https://github.com/badgeromen/zuuned-linux
Shared C library: https://github.com/badgeromen/libzune
The source at this migration tag is the newer public snapshot, not the exact
source snapshot used for this historical binary. GitHub's automatic Source code
archives therefore do not reproduce this AppImage. See MIGRATION.json for the
original binary baseline and checksums. Matching historical source availability
remains unresolved.
For feedback, export a debug report in Settings → Health, review it, and attach
it with your Zune model, Linux distribution and reproduction steps to an issue.
Zuuned Linux 0.1.0
Zuuned Linux 0.1.0
A Linux x86_64 development build for the testing group, featuring the new
Specimen Alien display font. Existing graffiti-font selections switch to it
automatically; Permanent Marker remains the default. This build also includes
the current photo album and nested-album organizer.
Download Zuuned-Test-0.1.0-x86_64.AppImage, its matching .sha256, and
TESTER-README.md from this release's assets. Follow the guide to verify the
download, make it executable, and launch it.
Requirements: Linux x86_64, glibc 2.41 or newer, X11/XWayland and working
OpenGL. Built on Debian 13 with Qt 6.8.2. Older distributions and native Wayland
are not certified.
Feedback: reproduce the issue, then use Settings → Health → export debug
report. Review the saved text before sending it to the test coordinator or
attaching it to an issue. Include reproduction steps, expected/actual behavior,
Linux desktop details and Zune model. Reports are never uploaded automatically.
See the tester guide for collecting logs when the app cannot start.
Verified for this artifact: bundle dependency checks; isolated desktop
startup, onboarding, music import, native folder/open/save dialogs, diagnostics
export, settings persistence and nested photo-album creation/restart. The actual
AppImage also launched on the development desktop and read the connected Zune's
library. Physical transfer/playback and other desktop/device combinations remain
separate tests. Do not interrupt an active transfer.
Build identity: baseline app 426005d74320814f3341d7be8bfced52f854ed90 plus
uncommitted Specimen Alien changes (reported as +dirty); libzune
d29bf7a5492b481f3211fbaeb3c596a00db7c742, unchanged. This is a development
snapshot, not a clean tagged source build.
