Keep your laptop awake — with the lid closed — but only while your AI coding agents are actually working.

First release for macOS and Windows.

Downloads

  • macOS: Lumen-1.0.0.dmg — open, drag to Applications, launch. First run installs a small background helper (one macOS password / Touch ID prompt).
  • Windows: Lumen-Setup-1.0.0.exe — run the installer (optional Start at login).

Builds are unsigned for now. macOS: right-click → Open the first time. Windows: More info → Run anyway.

What it does

  • Detects live Claude Code / Codex sessions (by session-log activity) and keeps the machine awake with the lid closed only while work is happening.
  • Lets the machine sleep normally once work stops (10-min grace).
  • Safety governors: battery floor (20%), force-sleep on critical (10%), thermal release, 8h hard cap, AC-only option.
  • Native menu-bar (macOS) / tray (Windows) with live status, mode switching, and timed sessions.

Notes

  • macOS keeps the lid awake via pmset disablesleep; Windows via SetThreadExecutionState + optional powercfg lid policy.
  • Waking a fully asleep laptop remotely (from your phone) is a hardware limitation, not something any app can do — keep it awake / on charger for remote work.
