Introduction

Since its inception, CAS2Audio didn't look and feel like a typical Android application. The user interface always felt like a misfit in the Android world - the buttons, frames, lines, and separators barely felt like they were put together with some thinking. Release 1.0.5 represents a drastic change. The user interface is now sleek and easy-to-use, while all functions are preserved.

User Interface Enhancements

  • The interface is simplified and streamlined. Now it looks like an android app.
  • The buttons have standardized icons
  • The amplitude control was moved to the Settings screen
  • The recent tape images are available after clicking the History button
  • Error messages are displayed as Alerts, instead of populating the screen estate
  • During playback, an animated cassette is displayed
  • Many messages were reworded for clarity

Defect fixes

  • Return from the Settings activity using the left arrow menu item resulted in a loss of the loaded tape image
  • In some cases, the Invert Polarity option didn't have any effect

The application now doesn't respond to automatic rotation.
