Release Notes - Version 24

General Updates

  • Updated the version in pyproject.toml to 24.

Code Changes

  • Removed unnecessary import of Options from fetch_sitemap/datastructures.py.
  • Removed unnecessary import of Iterable from fetch_sitemap/fetch.py.
  • Refactored splitting of options.basic_auth in fetch_sitemap/fetch.py to use maxsplit parameter.
  • Modified the return type of PageFetcher.get_sitemap_urls() in fetch_sitemap/fetch.py to explicitly indicate a list of strings.
  • Updated the handling of timeout error in PageFetcher.fetch_url() in fetch_sitemap/fetch.py to use HTTPStatus.REQUEST_TIMEOUT constant instead of a hard-coded status code.

Other Changes

  • Added a comment to indicate the increase of counter for successful sitemap parsing in PageFetcher.get_sitemap_urls() in fetch_sitemap/fetch.py.
