What's wrong?

The latest omarchy update rewrote my customized key bindings with default applications.

When updating omarchy today my bindings for SUPER + G reverted back to Signal instead of Telegram.
Same with SUPER + M. Back to spotify instead of audacious

There is a .bak file in your config folder that contains your original configuration.

Not for the bindings file. The bindings for those two apps were updated in place, custom bindings for web apps were left intact.

And anyway, an update should not silently touch customized settings, even if it makes backups. The expectation is, that .config/omarchy/* is managed by omarchy. For ~/.config/hypr/ omarchy might provide defaults on first installation, but does not modify them after that.

I think it's better to write all your Hypr modifications in a single file and load it in the hyprland.conf, where all the other files are called. That's what has worked best for me @pampa

We're better about warning for these updates now and always have .bak files generated in the event you need to recover.
