Other Realm 0.5.0 — Amiga compatibility preview
Other Realm — first public preview
A cinematic vector engine for CHGame, with native menus, automatic checkpoints, and personal cartridge packaging.
This preview supports the validated English Amiga ADF pair. Steam 20th Anniversary import is not supported yet. The Steam purchase link and resource-folder locations are documented, but do not buy that edition expecting this preview to convert it. Try the original Signal Grove demo with no commercial files required.
Downloads
- Otherrealm-Patcher-Windows.zip — extract the whole folder and open Otherrealm-Patcher.exe. Select your original ADF folder and a new output directory. Includes the native renderer, release firmware, uploader helper, and dependency notices. No Python or compiler needed.
- Signal-Grove.chgame — the original, freely distributable three-room vector adventure. Import with CHGame cartridge tools and play.
- Otherrealm-source.zip — engine, patcher, authoring tools, tests, build instructions, original demo, and ready-built browser preview.
- SHA256SUMS.txt — checksums for all three downloads.
The patcher creates your personal Otherrealm.chgame, native cover, directly copyable SD files, firmware, and validation reports. Original game files are not modified. Generated personal cartridges and packs contain your game data and must not be redistributed.
In this release
- Real vector animation streamed from SD on CHGame Rev0.
- Nineteen automatic checkpoint destinations and a completion-unlocked title scene.
- Native-resolution menu fonts, scene dimming/fades, and gentle particle effects.
- Native cartridge art and a 26-second gameplay GIF in the illustrated README.
- Board-package upload helper and direct SD / Arduino developer instructions.
- Original-creator, interpreter, platform, font, and tooling credits with license notices.
Verified
The standalone Windows app recreated the exact installed game pack from the owner's ADFs. The included upload helper flashed and launched the production build on CHGame; the new SD cover passed read-back verification and the user's save journal was preserved. Public-package audits reject original disk images, private files, and non-demo game packs.
39 Python tool tests, 15 patch tests, seven native test suites, and official CHGame cartridge/card conformance checks pass. Firmware remains the previously tested 33,808-byte build with 17,980 bytes of static RAM. Full end-to-end game completion has not been validated. Sound uses piezo cues, not the original sampled soundtrack.
