tinywm 0.1.0
The first release of tinywm, a scrolling window manager for macOS inspired by niri.
Install
- Download tinywm.zip below.
- Open it and drag tinywm into your Applications folder.
- Open tinywm. A welcome window walks you through the permissions.
The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so it opens without a warning. It needs macOS 14 Sonoma or later on a Mac with Apple silicon.
What's in it
- Windows open side by side on a strip that scrolls under the screen. Nothing else changes size.
- Hold right ⌘ and use H J K L or the arrows to move between windows and move them.
- Width presets, full width, stacked columns and floating windows.
- Workspaces that stack vertically, and a separate strip for every display.
- An overview of every window with right ⌘ + Esc.
- Meta + drag to move a window anywhere, and three-finger swipes on the trackpad.
- Rules for floating, ignoring, focus and where apps open, in one plain-text config that reloads on save.
- The layout is restored after a restart.
See the README for every key and option.
