• #26: let an allocator pause automatic spare-resource creation with isBackgroundAllocationAllowed(). Returning false postpones top-up without an allocation error or reserved capacity; healthy resources and explicit claims remain usable.
• AllocationContext.getClaimIdentity() lets integrations correlate one running acquisition across pool layers. limitedTo(...) preserves that identity and cancellation while narrowing the original budget.

Automatic top-up remains enabled by default. Existing allocators and claim APIs, Java 8 and the org.bbottema.genericobjectpool module name remain supported. This library does not add retries or health checks.
