PSCloud 0.34.28

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 15 Oct 19:14

Update PSCloud from the PS5 itself. Everything new since 0.31.0 is in the 0.34.25 release.

Updates over the internet

Go to Cloud settings → Updates.

  • Checks for new versions: PSCloud checks for the newest published release when it starts and once a day (you can switch this off), or when you press Check for updates.
  • Tells you once: a new version shows one PS5 notification and a banner on every page, with its release notes.
  • Download keeps the file only if its SHA-256 matches the release's SHA256SUMS.txt.
  • Install now sends it to the ELF loader on your PS5 (port 9021). The new version takes over, and the page reloads when it's running.
  • No ELF loader running? Then nothing can start a new payload. The update is kept, and Save to PC gives you the file to send yourself. Every download is also saved as /data/pscloud/pscloud-dashboard.elf, so an autoloader that starts PSCloud from that file runs the new version at the next boot.
  • Only published releases are offered, never drafts or pre-releases.

Note: this release is the first with the updater. Install 0.34.28 the usual way once; after that, PSCloud updates itself.

Also new

  • Trusted certificates built in: /data/pscloud/ca.pem (needed for HTTPS) is written automatically when it's missing. You no longer copy pscloud-ca.pem by hand.
  • Fixed: cleanup of old /data/pscloud* files could move a /data/pscloud-dashboard.elf that an autoloader starts PSCloud from. .elf files now stay where they are.

Tested

  • On a PS5 (firmware 7.00): a test copy labelled 0.34.26 updated itself to the published 0.34.27 through the page:
    1. Check for updates found the release.
    2. Download stored the file and verified it; it matched the published ELF byte for byte.
    3. Install now made the console switch versions on its own.
    4. The certificate bundle was installed automatically on a console that didn't have it.
  • Automated tests: check, refusing a wrong checksum, the autoloader copy, Save to PC, sending to the loader, no loader, up to date, and the daily switch.
  • Not yet tried: firmware 11.40 and 13.60.

Install

  1. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your PS5's ELF loader on port 9021. If an older PSCloud is running, the new one takes over.
  2. Open http://<your-PS5-IP>:8082 in a browser.

PSCloud 0.34.27

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 15 Oct 18:14

Move a save into one of your own saves (#3). Everything new since 0.31.0 is in the 0.34.25 release.

What changed

Put a shared save into one of your saves. Some saves have a different name on each profile. For example, a Demon's Souls character saved in slot 3 on one profile, and a new game saved in slot 0 on another.

When a shared save holds a save this profile doesn't have, the Share tab now asks where it goes:

  • Create a new save slot, as before. This is not yet confirmed to work in every game.
  • Put it into one of your own saves. Only saves the file doesn't write itself are offered, so for example the options save is never used for a character.

The save you choose keeps its own keystone and details. Only the game's files are replaced, after the usual check on a temporary copy, and a rollback copy is kept.

PSCloud refuses a save this profile doesn't have, two saves into one, a save the file also writes, and unsafe names.

How to use it

  1. Open the game on the profile that should receive the save, and go to Share → Receive from another PS5.
  2. Choose the ZIP. Under These saves in the file are not on this profile, pick the save each one goes into.
  3. Press Check again, then Replace my save.

Tested so far

Covered by automated tests: a save goes into a differently named save and keeps that save's keystone and details, the refusals, and the choices offered for issue #3's saves. Not yet run on a console.

Install

  1. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your PS5's ELF loader on port 9021. If an older PSCloud is running, the new one takes over.
  2. Open http://<your-PS5-IP>:8082 in a browser.

PSCloud 0.34.26

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 15 Oct 17:39

A fix for moving saves between profiles (#3). Everything new since 0.31.0 is in the 0.34.25 release.

What changed

When you import a save into a profile that doesn't have that save slot yet, PSCloud creates the slot. On firmware 13.60 the new save container came out smaller than requested, and the PS5 refused it with CE-107112-2 when the game opened it.

  • PSCloud now checks the size of every save container it creates, and logs the requested and actual sizes.
  • A container that came out too small is removed, and no slot is added. The import then tells you to start the game in that profile so the game creates the slot itself, then import again. Automatic sync skips that slot and continues with the others.
  • No game has been confirmed yet to accept a slot PSCloud creates, on any firmware. After an import that created a slot, Activity explains what to do if the game says the save is corrupted.

If this already happened to you: on the profile you imported into, delete that save in Settings → Saved Data. Start the game in that profile and save in the same slot, close it, then import again.

Tested so far

Covered by automated tests: a console that returns a too-small container (the slot is removed and nothing else changes), and the sizes logged for a normal creation. Not yet run on a console.

Install

  1. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your PS5's ELF loader on port 9021. If an older PSCloud is running, the new one takes over.
  2. Open http://<your-PS5-IP>:8082 in a browser.

PSCloud 0.34.25

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 15 Oct 07:06

PSCloud backs up and syncs PS5 saves: to your own WebDAV cloud, between your PS5s, and to USB. It runs on the console and you open it from any browser.

New since 0.31.0

Live: change values in the running game (beta)

  • Search a number you see on screen, play a bit, then Next search with the new number until a few places are left. Set changes it in the game right away.
  • Stop search ends a search at any time, and every search stops on its own after 3 minutes so the console stays responsive.
  • Saved values: name verified places and Set, Increase or Decrease them whenever you like.
  • Retain profile keeps a saved value across game restarts. After a restart, Relocate & bind finds it again.
  • New: pointer paths. Retain profile now also looks once for fixed paths to the value, the way cheat tables do. Relocate & bind follows them first, so the value can be found instantly after a restart. It falls back to the normal search when a path no longer matches.
  • Show FPS: a small corner badge with the game's frame rate. It only reads the game.
  • Freeze stays switched off after crashes on firmware 11.40.

Save editor (Edit tab, beta)

  • Find a value and Find by change across save loads, then make the changed save. Checksums are repaired and a rollback copy is kept.
  • Reusable save profiles find the same fields again in newer saves of the same game version.
  • Named fields and Compare two loads were removed in 0.34.22.

Cloud, PC and setup

  • Choose your cloud provider: ready-made WebDAV settings for Koofr, pCloud, Yandex Disk, Nextcloud and Synology NAS. Connect creates the backup folder if it does not exist yet.
  • Use a PC save on PS5 from a game's Share tab.
  • No restart to update: sending a new dashboard takes over from the running one.

Fixes

  • 0.34.25 project review:
    • Four dashboard lists could write past the end of their buffers. They now stop at an entry that would not fit.
    • Replies from other PS5s must be complete JSON, so they can't add fields to the dashboard's answer.
    • CI checks the SHA-256 of everything it downloads.
  • 0.34.24: Retain profile checks that a profile can be stored before its path search starts. It keeps the best 8 paths, and a profile's paths never block Relocate & bind.
  • Interrupted save reads no longer block later operations. Cloud screens are faster.

Tested so far

  • Live search, saved values, Retain profile and Show FPS were used on a PS5 on firmware 11.40 during development.
  • Pointer paths and the 0.34.24 and 0.34.25 fixes are covered by automated tests. They have not been tried in a game yet.
  • See CHANGELOG.md for every version.

Install

  1. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your PS5's ELF loader on port 9021. If an older PSCloud is running, the new one takes over.
  2. Open http://<your-PS5-IP>:8082 in a browser.

PSCloud 0.31.0

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 12 Oct 01:44

New in 0.31.0:

Receive any decrypted save. Receive a shared save now takes any decrypted PS5 save ZIP or save folder, the kind save tools and other consoles export (a folder with sce_sys/param.sfo plus game files). You can also drop a ZIP or folder onto it. PSCloud converts it and writes it for your account. Missing slots are created, and the game does not need to be installed.

Edit (beta) tab. Find a value the game shows, narrow it down after playing, compare two loads, and change it. All checksums are fixed: Alan Wake 2's own CRC32, the archive checksums and the package hash. Changes go through the normal check and Replace my save path, with a rollback copy.

Verified by automated tests, not yet in a game. See CHANGELOG.md.

Install: press Stop PSCloud, then send pscloud-dashboard.elf to port 9021.

PSCloud 0.30.2

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 12 Oct 01:06

Save slots on the game page can now show as a compact list: one thin row per slot with its picture, name and ID.

  • A Cards / List switch beside the heading shows the slot count and remembers your choice.
  • Games with more than 8 slots open as a list.
  • Long lists show the first 24 rows (12 cards) and a Show all N slots button.

Install: press Stop PSCloud, then send pscloud-dashboard.elf to port 9021. Includes everything from 0.30.1.

PSCloud 0.30.1

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 11 Oct 18:50

Fixes from the first console tests of 0.30.0.

  • Get the newer save and Send to my other PS5 stopped with "Install this game on this console" when the receiving PS5 did not have the game. They now go through, and missing slots are created.
  • Get the newer save finishes in the banner. It shows Newer save ready with Replace my save now (asks once, keeps a rollback copy) and Not now, instead of jumping to the Share tab.
  • PSCloud checks itself whether a game is running. The "Game closed" switch is only needed when it cannot tell.
  • On the game page, Create the save slots this profile does not have yet is on by default. Write the save anyway is on when the game is not installed. A slot that cannot be created (for example from an older ZIP) is skipped instead of stopping the replace.

Update both consoles. Shared ZIPs are format V2 since 0.30.0.

Install: press Stop PSCloud, then send pscloud-dashboard.elf to port 9021. For cloud uploads, copy pscloud-ca.pem to /data/pscloud/ca.pem.

Still not verified on a console: whether created save slots load in the game. See CHANGELOG.md.

PSCloud 0.30.0

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 11 Oct 18:08

Back up, restore, share and sync PS5 game saves from your browser. Runs on jailbroken PS5 consoles as an ELF payload.

What's new in 0.30.0

Sync compares real save times. Each save slot is now compared by the time the game itself saved it, taken from the PS5's own save list (read only), instead of file dates. This fixes 7.00 showing "newest" while 11.40 had the newer save. Before sending, PSCloud asks the other PS5 to back up its current save first.

Write saves this PS5 doesn't have yet (experimental). When a shared save has slots this profile lacks, PSCloud can create them the way the console does: the console's own create call, the game's save details and keystone, and one row in the PS5's save list. This also works when:

  • the game is not installed here;
  • the game was never played on this profile.

On the receive screen, choose Write it now. The PS5's save list is copied first, to /data/pscloud/rollback/savedata-<profile>.db.before-create. A slot that fails is removed again.

Lighter uploads. Uploads no longer download the whole backup again afterwards. An upload counts after:

  • the HTTPS transfer;
  • the server's OK;
  • an exact size check.

"Already in the cloud" is also decided without downloading. To compare every byte, turn on the full check in Cloud settings → After each upload.

Cancel stops the upload completely, including the check after it.

Important

  • Shared save ZIPs are now format V2, so update PSCloud on both consoles. Older versions can't read V2; V2 still reads older ZIPs.

  • Tested on consoles: the console's create call (7.00 and 11.40) and adding a slot to the PS5's save list (11.40, with test payloads).

  • Not yet tested on a console:

    • whether the system menu and the game accept created slots;
    • the full write flow from the dashboard;
    • the per-slot time comparison;
    • the size-only upload check.

    Try slot creation on a game you don't mind first.

Install

  1. Press Stop PSCloud on the dashboard, if it is running.
  2. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to the ELF loader on port 9021.
  3. Open http://<PS5-IP>:8082.
  4. For cloud uploads, copy pscloud-ca.pem to /data/pscloud/ca.pem.

PSCloud v0.29.2

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 11 Oct 14:57

Back up, restore, share and sync PS5 game saves from your browser. Runs on jailbroken PS5 consoles as an ELF payload.

What's new since v0.17.0

Sync between your PS5s

  • Over your home network, no cloud needed: Cloud settings → Other PS5s on your network → Find on my network, then link your profile to your profile on the other PS5.
  • Each game shows where it stands: In sync, This PS5 is newer, Your other PS5 is newer, Both changed, Only on this PS5, or Other PS5 not reachable. "In sync" means both consoles hold the same save.
  • Get the newer save and Send to my other PS5: every save is checked on a temporary copy before anything is replaced, and a rollback copy is always kept. The other PS5 replaces its save only if you allow it there.
  • Sync this game with my other PS5 (per game): backs the game up when you close it and brings newer progress over automatically. Turn it on once, on either console.
  • Also works through a shared cloud account.

Backups

  • Back up all games, a nightly backup at the hour you choose, and Back up when I close a game, which waits until the game has really closed.
  • Readable save names like "Slot 1 [Auto] A Debt Repaid", with each slot's picture.
  • Per-game settings.

Cloud

  • Optional password encryption (AES-256) of everything uploaded.
  • Keep only the newest 3/5/10/20 versions per save in the cloud.

USB

  • Save a game to an exFAT USB drive, copy all backups to it, and restore or delete saves from it.
  • Unchanged saves are never copied twice.

Storage

  • See exactly what PSCloud keeps on the PS5, all in /data/pscloud.
  • Free up space, with a preview before anything is deleted.
  • Old working files are cleaned up automatically.

Design

  • A redesigned dashboard: profiles, Now playing, game pages with tabs, and clearer wording throughout.

Firmware

Firmware Status
11.40 ✅ Tested on a console
7.00 ✅ Tested on a console
Other firmware from 1.00 to 13.60 ⚠️ Supported, not yet tested on a console

Install or update

  1. If PSCloud is already running, press Stop PSCloud in the dashboard first.
  2. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your ELF loader (port 9021).
  3. Open http://<PS5-IP>:8082 on a phone or computer on the same network.
  4. For cloud uploads only: copy pscloud-ca.pem to /data/pscloud/ca.pem if it is not there already.

Your settings are kept. Files from older versions in /data are moved into /data/pscloud automatically.

To start PSCloud with the console, add the ELF to your autoloader (for example ProsperoMgr → Payloads, then Settings → Autoloader).

The dashboard has no password, so use it only on your home network and never expose ports 8082/8083 to the internet.

Not yet tested on real consoles

These pass the automatic tests but have not been tried on hardware yet:

  • A full send or receive between two consoles.
  • Encryption against a real cloud.
  • USB copies on a real drive.
  • Behaviour in rest mode.

Please report results.

PSCloud v0.17.0

Choose a tag to compare

@bc160201983 bc160201983 released this 11 Oct 06:48

Back up, restore and share PS5 game saves from your browser. Runs on jailbroken PS5 consoles as an ELF payload.

Firmware support

Firmware Status
11.40 ✅ Tested on a console
7.00 ✅ Tested on a console
Every other firmware from 1.00 to 13.60 ⚠️ Supported, not yet tested on a console

If you run it on another firmware, please open an issue saying whether backup and sharing worked. Keep your own backup of your saves until you have confirmed it works on your firmware.

Install

  1. Copy pscloud-ca.pem to /data/pscloud-ca.pem on the PS5 (via FTP). It is needed only for cloud uploads.
  2. Send pscloud-dashboard.elf to your ELF loader (port 9021).
  3. On a phone or computer on the same network, open http://<PS5-IP>:8082.

To update: press Stop PSCloud in the dashboard, then send the new ELF.

The dashboard has no password. Use it only on your home network; never expose port 8082 to the internet.

Features

  • Share saves between consoles, for any game. Only the game progress is shared; the receiving console keeps its own save keys. Works between any firmware, for example 7.00 ↔ 11.40. Large saves can be shared slot by slot.
  • Receive a shared save: drag the ZIP onto the page and follow the steps. If the profile has no save yet, start the game once until it saves, then close it.
  • Compact backups, about 92% smaller than full save copies, to a local queue and optionally to Nextcloud/WebDAV.
  • Back up automatically when a game closes (off by default, in Cloud settings).

Safety

  • The game must be fully closed before any backup or replace.
  • A shared save is checked on a temporary copy first; your save is replaced only if the check passes.
  • A rollback copy of your original save is always kept.
  • On every firmware except 11.40, backups always use the compact format.

Known limitations

  • A game must be installed and must have created its own save before a shared save can be used.
  • Automatic backup on game close has not yet been observed with a real game.
  • Some games may tie saves to an account or region; a passed check does not guarantee every game loads the save.
