The first stable release. From this version on the API is frozen within a
major version, as described on the documentation's Stability & Versioning
page; the breaking changes that prepared it were batched into 0.26.0 (see
"Breaking changes in 1.0" under that release). Version 1.0.0 is archived on
Zenodo and is the version submitted to the Journal of Open Source Software.

Added

  • paper/paper.md and paper/paper.bib: the JOSS paper with the sections
    JOSS requires (summary, statement of need, state of the field, software
    design, research impact statement, AI usage disclosure), every update
    algorithm cited to its original paper, and the two example figures under
    paper/figures/ (byte copies of docs/assets/figures/, checked by a test).
  • .github/workflows/draft-pdf.yml: builds paper.pdf with the
    openjournals draft action on every change under paper/ and uploads it as
    a workflow artifact.
  • .zenodo.json: archive metadata (title, description, author with ORCID and
    affiliation, keywords, license, related identifiers) so the Zenodo record
    created from the GitHub release carries the right citation data.

  • CITATION.cff carries the author's affiliation.
