Farcaster 0.4.0 brings more editor choices, custom agent profiles, editable themes, and a reworked session sidebar, alongside improvements to switching speed and message recovery.
- More editor choices. Open projects and files in VS Code or Zed, use embedded terminal editors such as Helix and Vim, or configure your own terminal command.
- Custom agent and worker profiles. Configure launch settings, choose worker models and supported service tiers, and set per-profile worker limits. Workers can inherit the calling session’s configuration.
- Editable themes. Edit, import, and export CSS-based themes, with live terminal updates. Includes Everforest and Rosé Pine palettes and theme previews.
- Better session organization. Optional project grouping, colored folders, saved group ordering, collapsible sidebars, and resizable archive and notification panels.
- Faster session and project switching. Cached history, background loading, and fewer blocking Git operations reduce repeated work when navigating.
- More reliable drafts and queued messages. Drafts stay available until submitted or deleted. Improved recovery after restarts, clearer queued-message controls, and fixes for duplicate or out-of-order worker replies.
- More consistent session settings. Fixes preserve model choices, profiles, archive state, and worker ownership across restarts and session changes.
- Expanded Linux packaging. Native Debian, Arch, and Nix packages, plus AppImages built with official linuxdeploy and broader installation and startup checks.
