v0.2.55 — Improved navigation-menu hover-dismiss behavior and added layered positioner defaults for more reliable portal layering.

@data-slot/core

  • ✨ Added layered positioner defaults for portal wrappers: when a wrapperSlot is used, the wrapper element now sets isolation: "isolate" and a default z-index of 50 to create a predictable stacking context for portal content.
  • Note: This improves out-of-the-box layering for portal-based components; if you relied on the previous stacking/ z-index behavior for custom layouts, you may need to adjust your CSS.

@data-slot/navigation-menu

  • ✨ Portal/viewport improvements to make hover-dismiss and pointer interactions more reliable:
    • The positioner elements now have pointer-events: none by default so they don't block pointer movement between triggers and portal content.
    • When a panel opens, its content has pointer-events: auto and the viewport toggles pointer-events automatically based on open state.
    • Pointerleave handling was improved to ignore pointer moves into portal content (via containsWithPortals), reducing accidental dismisses when moving between trigger and menu panels.
  • Result: smoother hover-to-open/hover-to-close behavior and fewer accidental dismisses when interacting with portalized menu panels.

No breaking changes.
