🌐 Interactive HTML files (new)

HTML documents with their own JavaScript now work in the preview — tabs, accordions, collapsible sections, and charts respond to clicks instead of doing nothing. Everything still runs fully sandboxed (no access to your files or the app).

• In‑page anchor links and the hover URL preview continue to work.

🗂️ Folder & collection file‑type filter (fix)

• The funnel filter now correctly hides files in list view (and nested folders), not just the icon grid. Turning off .pdf, .md, or any type now hides those files everywhere.
• "Hide from list" for individual files is respected in list view too.

🧭 Sidebar

• Resize the left pane smoothly anywhere along its right edge — including across the pin/✕ buttons at the top.
• Long collection and folder names now use the full width; the hover actions (filter, add, rename, delete) slide in over the end of the name instead of squeezing it into a narrow column.

Press ⌘F / Ctrl+F to search the open document — works in Markdown, text, JSON, Excel, and PDF.

• Find Next / Previous (Enter / Shift+Enter) with a live match count.
• Every match is highlighted and the current one stands out — including the matched word highlighted right on PDF pages as you step through them.
• Match case and whole word toggles. Esc to close.

🔧 Auto-update fixed (macOS)

• Updates now actually install. Previously an update would download but never apply — "Restart now" did nothing, and quitting/reopening didn't help either. The root cause: watching a large folder (for example a project containing node_modules) opened tens of thousands of file handles and exhausted the system limit, which silently broke the macOS updater. Folder watching now uses a single efficient OS‑level watcher per folder instead of one handle per file.
• Closing the window now applies a pending update on macOS, and "Restart now" reliably relaunches into the new version.

⚠️ One‑time manual update needed. Because the previous version couldn't apply updates, please install this one manually this once — after that, automatic updates work normally:

1. Download MD-Viewer-mac-arm64.dmg (Apple Silicon) or MD-Viewer-mac-x64.dmg (Intel) from the Assets below.
2. Quit MD Viewer (⌘Q), open the DMG, and drag MD Viewer into Applications, replacing the old copy.

Also includes everything from 1.3.54 (Word horizontal‑view performance + real page margins, HTML link handling & hover preview, JSON graph search/collapse/right‑click, and per‑folder file‑type filters).

A big update focused on viewing Word, HTML, and JSON files — plus smarter, less cluttered file organization.

📄 Word documents

• No more freezing on large files. Switching long Word documents to horizontal page view used to hang; pages now load and scroll smoothly no matter how long the document is.
• Real page margins & size. Horizontal page view now matches the document's actual margins and page size (Letter, A4, portrait or landscape) instead of a generic page.
• Fit‑to‑page by default. Horizontal view automatically scales a whole page to fit the window — zoom adjusts from there.
• True page zoom. Zooming now scales the entire page (layout and images), not just the text size.

🌐 HTML files

• Links work the way you expect. In‑page links jump to the right section, and external links open in your browser (no more landing on a blank page).
• Hover to preview a link. The destination URL appears in a status bar at the bottom, just like a web browser.
• Rich right‑click menu. Copy a link's address or text, copy or save an image, copy an image address, or copy selected text.

🧩 JSON files (graph view)

• Right‑click any node to copy its JSON, copy its JSONPath, copy a key, collapse/expand its branch, or zoom straight to it.
• Collapse & expand branches to fold large structures and focus on what matters.
• Search keys & values and jump between matches with next/previous.

🗂️ File organization

• Per‑folder & per‑collection file‑type filters. Show or hide file types for a specific folder or collection without cluttering the interface — your choices are remembered across workspaces.
• Hide individual files or folders. Right‑click → "Hide from list" to declutter.
• Clearer folder nesting. Subfolders now indent correctly under their parent.
