Lyrics on the timeline

Tag a lyric line with its position and send the block to the arrangement as locators or clips. Positions can be a bar ([17]), bar and beat ([17.3]), a timecode ([1:04]), or a bit of math ([=8*4]). Untagged lines under a tag flow one bar apart, and a blank line ends the block so your prose and to-dos are left alone.

Also new

  • Settings panel with a continuous text-size slider, window size, and Zen Mode for distraction-free writing.
  • Unsaved-Set notes are safe. Notes taken before you save a Set are staged in the extension's own storage, so Ableton's "Delete temp files" can no longer take them with it; they migrate into the project once you save.
  • Text zoom shortcuts, Windows shortcut labels, and assorted UI polish.

Install

  1. Download Session-Notes-0.2.0.ablx below.
  2. In Live: Settings -> Extensions, then drag the file onto the page.
  3. Right-click a track, clip slot, or scene -> Extensions -> Session Notes: Open...
