Compiled code is smaller, compiles faster and runs faster. Nothing to set; the
code cache is rebuilt once.
- Compiled code is less than half the size and compiles four times faster.
A memory access in generated code now keeps one compare inline and calls a
shared function for the rest, where 0.9.0 and 0.9.1 repeated the whole page
lookup at every access. A cold compile of the hot set takes about a quarter
of the time: CPython 104 s against 415 s, QuickJS 69 s against 271 s, Lua
23 s against 102 s. Peak memory during the compile is 28 to 51% of what it
was. - Compiled requests are faster. A compiled script request's p50 is 12 to
33% lower: CPython 10.5 ms against 15.3 ms, QuickJS 4.8 ms against 6.6 ms,
Lua 2.7 ms against 3.0 ms, CPython with anentry2.1 ms against 2.7 ms.
Interpreted requests, restore time and how many instances fit in a page
budget are unchanged. - Generated code is ABI 15. A code cache written by an earlier release is
ignored and rebuilt on the first compile. Nothing to set.
