Release list
SheepTap 14
SheepTap now looks for updates itself: it checks when it starts and once a day, and downloads a verified new version for you.
- Update checks: automatic, or "Check for Updates…" in the menu-bar menu to check right away. Release notes are behind Details…
- Signed updates: every download is verified against SheepTap's own signing key before it is unpacked; one that does not verify is never offered
- Download Update puts the verified zip in your Downloads folder and shows it in Finder — unzip it and drag SheepTap into Applications (SheepTap runs sandboxed, so it cannot replace itself)
- VPN rows name the provider (FortiGate, Tailscale, Check Point, …), show the VPN client's own icon and its DNS servers
- Hardened: hardened runtime on, and no file-access permission it does not use
This version has to be installed by hand once.

SheepTap 13
- The Wi-Fi More/Less toggle no longer flashes: the panel now grows and shrinks in one step instead of briefly drawing the new rows in the old frame.
- While the panel is open, the two-second Wi-Fi refresh no longer re-lays out the menu when only the numbers changed.
- macOS now remembers the Location permission (needed for the network name and BSSID) across updates. You will be asked once more after installing this version, then not again.

- The address and Wi-Fi details are slightly larger again for easier reading, in a regular (non-bold) weight.
- The More button matches the detail rows instead of appearing bold.

SheepTap 10
- Fixes the Wi-Fi More button and Wi-Fi generation badge (Wi-Fi 4/5/6/6E/7) not appearing in version 9 — macOS was withholding the Wi-Fi radio information from the app.
- More now shows Security, BSSID, Channel, Country Code, RSSI, Noise, Tx Rate, PHY Mode, MCS Index and NSS as intended.
Unsigned build — first launch: right-click the app and choose Open, or allow it in

SheepTap 9
- New More button under the Wi-Fi card shows the same diagnostics as the Option-click Wi-Fi menu: Security, BSSID, Channel (band and width), Country Code, RSSI, Noise, Tx Rate, PHY Mode, MCS Index and NSS.
- The figures refresh live every two seconds while the menu is open.
- A badge next to the network name shows the Wi-Fi generation you are connected with — Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, 6E or 7.
- The address details (IP, Subnet, Gateway, DNS, MAC) use a smaller, tighter font so the panel stays compact.
- The first time you open More, SheepTap asks for Location access. macOS treats the network name, BSSID and country code as location data; if you decline, those rows are simply hidden.
- The panel remembers whether you left More open.

- "Open at Login" is now set up correctly even if the app was first run from a development build before being installed.
- An interface with more than one IPv4 address shows its primary address instead of the last alias.
- The Wi-Fi network name no longer overlaps the interface name when it is shown.
- The pointer changes to a hand over an interface icon and always returns to normal when the menu closes.
- Duplicate DNS servers in a manual list no longer confuse the DNS rows.

- Click the icon on any interface card to jump straight to that interface in System Settings.
- Wi-Fi opens the Details sheet of the network you are connected to.

adapter even when several are attached. - VPN opens the VPN pane.
- The icon highlights on hover and shows a pointing hand so it is obvious it can be clicked;
the menu closes itself once System Settings comes forward.
