Falcon LogScale Community edition

CrowdStrike provides access to a free cloud-based community edition of Falcon LogScale which you can sign up to at https://cloud.community.humio.com
This free version of LogScale has some limitations. The most severe limitation is the 7 day rolling window of data retention. No matter how much data you'll ingest, you can never see more than the last 7 days worth of data. Other limitations of the community edition are:

  • 16 GB per day of data ingest
  • Maximum of 5 users
  • 1 Repository

Repositories

LogScale organizes data into Repositories.
With the community edition of Falcon LogScale you can only have 1 repository for your own data. With an enterprise version of LogScale, you can either ingest Nextcloud data into a separate Nextcloud repository, or you can ingest it into a repository containing multiple data sources. Unless you already have a repository into which you want Nextcloud data to go, create a repository.

Nextcloud package installation

  • Download the "nextcloud--nextcloud--x.x.x" zip file from the GitHub repository
  • Click on the repository into which the Nextcloud data is to be ingested
  • Click on "Settings"
  • In the left-hand menu, click on "Installed"
  • Click on the "Import package" button
