Experimental 0.x preview of the standalone GI-friendly PipeWire binding layer. API and ABI may change.

Changes

  • Add Pwg.Stream.get_graph_rate() and the graph-rate property to observe the driving graph clock independently of the negotiated capture format.
  • Deliver coalesced change notifications on the stream's GLib main context, with protection against stale observations after reentrant dispatch or restart.
  • Return zero before processing and after stop. This API observes a stream's graph; it does not configure hardware or session-manager policy.

Validation and limitations

Strict compiler/GIR checks, exported-symbol tests, deterministic dispatch tests, sanitizers, package installation, and the PipeWire compatibility CI passed. Live validation exercised graph rates of 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 kHz while capture stayed at 48 kHz.

The lightweight daemon smoke covers stream lifecycle. Live copied-audio and clock checks still use a heavier WirePlumber-backed fixture; a deterministic graph fixture remains future work. This release does not promise stable API/ABI.
