Overview

Version 0.8.1 is a small maintenance release focused on PyPI integration, package metadata, and documentation.

The toolkit is now available directly from PyPI, making installation easier without relying on Git-based dependencies.

Changes

  • Updated installation instructions to use PyPI instead of GitHub release tags.
  • Added a PyPI version badge to the README.
  • Fixed documentation links so they work correctly on both GitHub and PyPI.
  • Added package metadata, including the MIT license, keywords, classifiers, and project URLs.

Installation

Install the toolkit from PyPI:

uv add imx-camera-toolkit==0.8.1

Optional browser preview support:

uv add "imx-camera-toolkit[preview]==0.8.1"

For WebRTC and HLS:

uv add "imx-camera-toolkit[production-preview]==0.8.1"

On NVIDIA Jetson, continue using JetPack's system OpenCV build and a virtual environment created with --system-site-packages.

Compatibility

There are no changes to the camera capture APIs, GPU buffer handling, or streaming functionality in this release.

Existing applications using v0.8.0 should continue working without code changes.
