Obol v1.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 21:24

Changed

  • In a browser, turning back sends the tab itself to a quiet shore page instead of just going home, so the forbidden tab doesn't meet you at the gate the next time the browser opens.

Obol v1.0.1

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 18:15

Fixed

  • Charon stopped at the gate on Xiaomi phones: HyperOS froze the app as soon as a feed was open. Charon now stays in the foreground with a quiet "Charon is on watch" notification.
  • The oracle tries again later when notifications are off, instead of staying silent for the rest of the day.
  • The oath by the Styx described itself as making Obol impossible to uninstall. It doesn't: removing Obol takes extra screens and breaks the oath, which stays on record. The text now says so.
  • The purse widget no longer cuts off its second line.

Changed

  • The time left lives on the plaque in the corner; the Super Island countdown is gone.
  • The mist of Lethe is noticeable from its first minute.
  • Settings can put the purse widget on the home screen.

@github-actions github-actions released this 16 Oct 17:12

The first release.

Charon and the gate

  • Charon, an accessibility service that sees the app in front, browser addresses and the Reels and Shorts screens; time counts for a patron only while you touch, scroll or type.
  • Charon's gate over every stream of Lethe: why you want to cross, a breathing pause, then 5, 15 or 30 minutes, the meter, or a free pass from Hermes' staff. The reel underneath is paused; turning back is free.
  • The crossing's countdown in a notification: in the Super Island on Xiaomi, as a Live Update on Android 16, as a corner plaque elsewhere.
  • Tariffs: Nyx's hour, the early morning and a fare that rises with every crossing of the day.
  • Debt to Hades with interest on the borrowed part.
  • The mist of Lethe creeping in from the edges after five minutes on the far shore.

Patrons and streams

  • Five built-in patrons (Calliope, Hermes, Athena, Hestia, Nike) and your own, with a name, symbol, glaze, rate, daily cap, counting with the screen off, apps and sites.
  • Pedestals that grow with all the hours served and cracks on patrons neglected for a week.
  • Six built-in streams (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, VK, Reddit, X) and your own; "only the endless feed" for Instagram and YouTube.
  • The oracle: one patron pays double for two hours each day.

Temple, rites and the ledger

  • The temple: a treasury that grows every Monday and vows saved up for real rewards.
  • Rites by a timer that runs only while the phone lies face down.
  • The daily ostrakon, a four-week frieze, every line with its reason, and the evening question of what you remember from the far shore.
  • The oath by the Styx: Obol can't be uninstalled, the gate's settings lock and streams can only get dearer; a broken oath stays on record.
  • The purse widget.
  • English and Russian, black-figure and red-figure themes.
