@github-actions github-actions released this 18 Oct 07:05

The first release of Vigil: vows sealed with wax.

  • Vows from a catalog of seventy in seven parts (body, digital, speech, money, mind, heart, spirit), or your own: abstain, a daily practice, a measure a day, or hours of the day.
  • Length of 3, 7, 21, 40, 49 or 108 days, your own, or no end; beginning now, at dawn tomorrow, after the last supper, or on a chosen day.
  • Why, in your own words and your own voice; rigor of a novice, a monk or a hermit; a testament opened only when the vow is kept; a wax seal set by holding it.
  • The ladder of release: the candle of waiting, your voice, a letter, three questions, a ransom, a witness, a tithe, and sleeping on it. At any step you can still hold.
  • Lapses become an indulgence, penance, a crack in the seal, or a burned scroll; a hermit's vow can be begun again at once.
  • Temptation: a candle to breathe with, your reason and your voice, the strength and trigger noted; a gold bead for each one held.
  • The evening examen, the morning rule with warnings on the hard days, seasons (Sober October, Dry January, Lent, the Nativity Fast, No-spend November), lineage of next steps, the rule of three.
  • The chronicle: the reliquary, the map of temptations, letters, tithes, and the book of hours. A candle widget for the home screen. English and Russian.
