✨ New Features

  • Restore a backup as a clean slate: ObtainX resets its tracked apps and settings, then brings back only what you pick. Apps already installed on the phone are not uninstalled.
  • Pick an app-icons folder so custom icons (and icons ObtainX figures out on its own) can be copied out and restored after a reinstall or a move to a new device.
  • Apps whose source has no icon can still show one: ObtainX can take it from a downloaded APK, or from another store listing such as APKMirror, F-Droid, APKPure, or Play.
  • When you manually download an app's release asset, the notification will offer Install button, which opens it the same way a file manager would.

🛠 Improved Features

  • Forgejo is now its own source, separate from Codeberg. Public instances like Codefloe are recognized; other Forgejo hosts still work via Override source.
  • App ID detection from GitHub and Forgejo/Codeberg repos finds the real Android app in unusual project layouts, and no longer treats a library module as the app.
  • APKPure links and icons are more reliable.
  • Changelog pictures from Forgejo-hosted apps load from that instance, not only from Codeberg.
  • All tooltips are now material theme colored, not monochrome
  • Direct / HTML sources show the site they came from in the apps list.
  • Folder pickers open on the folder you are reconnecting.
  • HTTP requests identify as ObtainX.

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Backups that exclude secrets no longer include leftover GitHub/GitLab token fingerprints.
  • Importing a backup with secrets had a visual glitch in Settings tab. This is now fixed.
  • Lost access to a backup or APK-save folder is reported without wiping the saved location, so you can re-grant access to the same folder more easily.
  • Fixed app details page's action buttons bar hiding in tablet mode.
