What's new in v1.2.1

A focused bugfix release — every issue below was reported, fixed, and verified on-device.

Fixed

  • Autosave now actually works. Copies made on modern Android (10+) were being silently rejected by the system because the app wasn't in focus — every background read was denied, so items never landed unless you pressed the save button. ClipVault now saves your clipboard the moment you open or return to the app, with no button press needed. Background polling also adapts: it backs off automatically (up to once a minute) when the platform keeps refusing, instead of hammering every 5 seconds and draining battery.
  • Biometric lock/unlock for notes is fully reliable. A subtle condition bug in the prompt configuration was throwing an IllegalArgumentException the moment you tried to lock or unlock a note — the old code only worked by accident on some devices. Now it picks the right authenticator combination for your hardware, the prompt actually appears, and fingerprint + PIN both work.
  • Home screen no longer falsely shows "Nothing copied yet" on cold start. A race between Paging's first load and the autosave insert could briefly flip the list to empty — fixed by waiting until the data refresh genuinely finishes before deciding what to show.
  • Search no longer hijacks your keyboard. Tapping the search tab used to immediately pop up the keyboard with autofocus. Now the bar opens cleanly; tap to search when you're ready.
  • Floating bubble icon replaced. The old icon was a broken clipboard glyph; it's now a proper chat-bubble that matches the brand.
  • Settings panel no longer feels laggy. A double-toggle bug was causing every switch to flicker; the internal state pipeline also moved off a fragile Array<Any?> to a typed combine. Switching settings is instant now.
  • No more crashes from URL previews. A nasty NPE that fired whenever a URL title fetch returned null was fixed with a guarded cache and defensive error handling. Crash-reporter added in Settings → About so you can send me reports if anything does break.

Changed

  • New app icon. The launcher icon now uses your new artwork in proper adaptive form: foreground + background + monochrome (themed) variants, all density-bucketed. Also upscaled the Play Store asset from a mislabeled 256×256 to a real 512×512.

Performance

  • Release build with R8 optimization. Shipping now uses the production pipeline (minify + resource shrink), so the installed APK is 3.4 MB instead of the bloated debug build.
  • Animated background no longer rebuilds the whole screen 60×/second. The animation was reading its state in composition, which re-ran the wrapper around every screen on every frame; now it reads inside the draw phase so only the canvas re-renders.
  • OTP extraction is memoized. Verifying one-time codes no longer runs a regex on every redraw of the row.

Verification

Every fix above was reproduced in your hands, then verified clean on-device via logcat. No crashes were logged during testing. Zero outstanding issues from your original bug list.
