v1.0.12
DEPRECATED: this release is defective. Use v1.0.27 instead.
No release from v1.0.7 through v1.0.26 produces an installable Standard-mode ISO. This version crashes the Standard-mode build at 18% -- the autounattend binding references catalog item
tweak-compact-install, which was never added tocatalog.json; v1.0.8 turned that missing id from a silent default into a hard error.v1.0.27 reverts the image-shaping build pipeline to the proven v1.0.6 code -- verified end-to-end (clean build, clean install, Compact OS on, first-boot cleanup working) -- while keeping the post-v1.0.6 UI, logging, and failed-build cleanup. Existing installs auto-update via Velopack. Core-mode builds were unaffected.
Update-available badge fix. Two paired fixes to the small pulsing dot in the nav (visible when a newer release is detected): (1) the dot was rendered in Microsoft blue (--accent, a :root variable that wasn't theme-scoped) and is now theme-scoped — white in dark mode, dark grey (#3a3a3a) in light mode — to match the rest of the wizard's flat-styling palette and to stay legible on the nav background of either theme; (2) hovering the dot used to freeze the pulse animation mid-keyframe (animation-play-state: paused), which could leave the badge stuck at a shrunken-or-transparent frame and visually "disappear" under the cursor — the hover state now stops the animation entirely (animation: none), pins the dot to full scale + full opacity, and shows a static colored halo as the click affordance.
Changed
ui/style.css—.update-badgecolor is now theme-scoped. New CSS custom properties--badge-color(resting) +--badge-color-hoverdefined in both[data-theme="light"]and[data-theme="dark"]blocks: light mode =#3a3a3aresting /#1c1c1chover (dark grey on white nav); dark mode =#ffffffresting /#e0e0e0hover (white on dark nav). The previousvar(--accent)blue (#0078d4) was a single:rootvalue with no theme variant.@keyframes badge-pulsering-shadow color also moved fromvar(--accent)tovar(--badge-color)so the expanding ring matches the dot under both themes.ui/style.css—.update-badge:hovernow stops the pulse entirely. Replacedanimation-play-state: paused(which froze the dot on whatever mid-pulse frame happened to be active when the cursor entered) withanimation: none; transform: scale(1); opacity: 1;plus a staticbox-shadowhalo. The dot is unambiguously visible at full size while the cursor is on it.:focus-visibleshares the same rule for keyboard nav. Addedappearance: none+-webkit-appearance: noneto suppress any native UA button styling that could otherwise re-skin the bg on hover/active in some WebView2 builds.
Added
ui/style.css— CSS-based tooltip via::after+data-tooltipattr. Nativetitleattribute tooltips are inconsistent in WebView2 (often delayed or suppressed while a CSS animation is active). The new tooltip is positionedtop: calc(100% + 8px); right: 0below the dot, usesvar(--bg-card)+var(--fg)+var(--border)so it auto-adapts to theme, and fades in over 120 ms on:hoveror:focus-visible.pointer-events: noneensures the tooltip itself never intercepts clicks targeting the badge.ui/index.html—data-tooltip="Update available, click to install..."added to#update-badge. Thetitleattribute is also updated to the same text for screen-reader fallback / aria-tree consistency, andaria-labelis widened from"Update available"to"Update available, click to install"so assistive tech reads the action in addition to the state.
Note
- v1.0.13 = Microsoft Trusted Signing (the 3 signing items deferred from v1.0.8 → v1.0.9 → v1.0.10 → v1.0.11 → v1.0.12 → v1.0.13: ci B2 narrow-secret-scope + ci B3 action-rename bump + 5 GitHub Action secrets). Signing got bumped one more cycle because this badge fix surfaced during v1.0.11 smoke and is a quick, isolated UX repair that benefits from landing isolated from the multi-step signing setup.
