Wheeljack v0.1.0 is the first public release of the local-first desktop workspace for coding agents, terminals, isolated task lanes, and review.

Highlights

  • Bots: save reusable project or global launch profiles with a standing role, adapter, model, effort, permissions, and a larger visual identity. Running agents keep an immutable launch snapshot when a Bot changes or is deleted.
  • Complete desktop updates: check and download manually or automatically, follow verified download progress, review release notes, restart into an update, and recover automatically if the replacement does not report a healthy UI.
  • Recursive terminal splits and persistent project workspaces.
  • Structured sessions for Claude Code, Codex CLI, OpenCode, and Pi.
  • Isolated task lanes with review-before-delivery routing.
  • Editable Plan board, activity history, and restart recovery.

Downloads

  • macOS universal: wheeljack-macos-universal.dmg or wheeljack.app.zip — signed and notarized.
  • Windows x64: wheeljack-windows-x64-portable.exe — unsigned; Windows SmartScreen may show a warning.

Each download has a .sha256 sidecar. SHA256SUMS.txt contains the complete checksum set.

Wheeljack does not bundle coding-agent subscriptions or credentials. Install and authenticate at least one supported coding-agent CLI separately for structured sessions; regular shell terminals work without one.
