Binders 0.5.0
Links between everything, a page for your day, and the note tools Obsidian users reach for.
- ⌘O jumps to any note, meeting, card, person or page as you type, and ⌘P runs any command: a new note from a template, meeting notes, a binder's board, any Settings page. Both are in the new Go menu, and "Jump to…" sits at the top of the sidebar.
- [[Links]]. Type [[ in a note, meeting notes, the scratchpad or a card, and pick a note, meeting, person or binder. A link opens with a click, and a link to something that doesn't exist yet makes that note.
- Mentioned in. Next to every note, under a meeting's notes and on a person's page: what links there, and the notes and meetings that only name it, with a Link button that makes the mention a link. It fills itself from what you've written.
- Today, in the sidebar: the day's meetings and action items, promises and to-dos due, notes due or edited, cards that moved and what you dictated, next to a note for the day titled by its date. The arrows go back through earlier days.
- Templates. The arrow next to Notes' new-note button starts a 1:1, project kickoff, interview, reading notes or weekly review, or one of your own; save any note as a template. A templated note's digest follows its sections.
- Version history. History, at the bottom of a note, keeps it as it was before each time you edit it, every few minutes while you write, and before a teammate's or an AI tool's change lands, for 30 days. Restore any version, and undo a restore the same way.
- Tags and properties. Write #tags anywhere; ⌘O with #tag finds everything tagged, in every binder. Give a note a status, an owner and a due date; the notes list shows and filters them, and Today lists what's due. In a shared binder they sync, as properties Obsidian understands.
- An outline in the editor's toolbar jumps to any heading, and sections of meeting notes and digests fold away.
- MCP: list_notes filters by tag and status, and notes come with their status, owner, due date and tags.
