⚠️ Read this first

This is experimental software. Do not put money in it that you cannot afford to lose.

  • Send a small amount first and get it back out again before you trust this wallet with anything meaningful.
  • Write down your recovery phrase and keep it offline. If you lose it, nobody can recover your coins — not us, not anyone.
  • Read the source before you trust it. It is all in this repository. Do not take our word for what it does; a wallet you cannot inspect is a wallet you should not use.
  • This release has had no external security audit.
  • Pepecoin support is new in this release and has seen far less real-world use than BFX.

The wallet is no longer BFX-only. Pepecoin (PEP) is the first coin beyond it.

Adding a second coin turned a single-coin wallet into one that has to say which coin you are looking at, so much of this release is exactly that.

New

  • Pepecoin wallets alongside your BFX ones — create fresh, or restore from seed
  • Running on our own Electrum server, pepelectrum.bitfinitechain.org, with the two community servers kept as failovers
  • Per-coin colour and icon throughout, so you can tell at a glance which wallet you are in
  • 7-day price chart on the balance screen — touch it to read the price at any point and how long ago
  • Prices under a cent display properly instead of 0.00

Fixed

  • Pepecoin now verifies the chain it connects to. The genesis hash was Dogecoin's, inherited from the class Pepecoin was derived from. That value is what the wallet checks against the server on every connect, so the check had never passed — and a Dogecoin server would have satisfied it.
  • View-only wallets no longer offer Send. Opening Receive put a Send button back on screen for a wallet holding no private key. Fixed, and enforced at the route so no future screen can reintroduce it.
  • Transaction details no longer cut off large amounts (they overflowed by 94px).
  • CI could not build at all. A git dependency was pinned to a commit upstream had force-pushed out of reach — still visible on github.com, but unreachable by the plain clone pub get performs. We host it now.

BFX wallet behaviour is unchanged.
