Menus now announce the position of the focused item — for example "Potion, 3 of 12" — so you always know where you are in a list. This spans inventory, magic, equipment, shops, the battle command/item/magic/target menus, the title and in-game menus, save and load, and character/class selection, and opening the in-game menu now also announces the command you start on. Position announcements can be toggled in the mod menu (on by default).
The in-game Config menu is now fully spoken: every setting row with its current value, plus the Controls screens, which read your keyboard, mouse, and gamepad button assignments aloud. The language selector announces each option, and when starting a new game each class is described as you move onto it.
Audio now runs on a new SDL3 sound engine for steadier beacons, footsteps, and wall tones. The required SDL3.dll is bundled in the download — place it alongside the other DLLs as described in the ReadMe.
Fixes: the nearby-entity scanner keeps working after you change maps; changing the beacon category now respects your pathfinding filter; and dialogue and message windows read reliably.
