In-game menus, including Item, Magic, Equipment, Status, Config, Save, and Load, now announce the focused entry when you open them and again when you back out of a submenu, and the battle command, spell, item, and target menus now re-announce the entry you land on when you cancel back through them. Save, load, and quicksave confirmation prompts also speak the highlighted button after reading the prompt text.
You can now hear an item or spell's description during battle on demand: press I on the keyboard, or push the right stick up on a controller, while choosing a battle item or spell to read its description, even when automatic detail reading is turned off.
New "Multi-hit Damage" option in Battle Settings (off by default): when on, multi-hit attacks announce how many hits landed along with the total damage, for example "Goblin: 14x1552 damage."
Battle actions are now read consistently as "name: action", for example "Hero1: Attack", so every character's turn is announced the same way.
Shops no longer say "Buy" twice when they open,
Most menus in the game have an index count (EG: New game: 1 of 3). Pop-ups, status screens and menus that end in numbers are excluded to avoid confusion and potentially unnecessary information, but can be added on request.
The bestiary now reads a monster's name as soon as you open its entry and no longer repeats its details when you move between monsters.
Battles no longer announce the starting condition twice, so you hear the game's own message such as "Preemptive strike!" only once.
